I Just saw In Love With play their whole new album Coitus Interruptus in Helsinki. What a stunning gig! Sylvain Darrifourcq is amazing and very entertaining drummer! On of the best I have ever seen play.

Hello Folks... and for Udi ~
Thanks for the suggestion of Caveman Shoestore! Listened a bit and had the 'hmmmmmmm' going. A little further research has Elaine DeFalco in association also. Will be exploring further!

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

For some strange reason, I have been binging on Swedish stuff in the last few days, and saw this thread posted, I was going through some oldies.

as if one helping of their saccharine balladry and feeble attempts to ingratiate themselves with the Neal Morse fanbase was not enough for 2019.

I liked the sample of this one a lot.

Sounds like a winner. I noticed it was recorded, appropriately enough at "Seizures Palace" LOL!
Oh and that Caveman Shoestore is GREAT stuff, thanks Udi.

I have been recently exploring all the project related to In Love With. Best I have so far heard is violin player Théo Ceccaldi's band FREAKS and especially album Amanda Dakota (2018). It is just brilliant! Like jazzier version of PoiL.

When I googled them I saw they had a gig in the Netherlands just a couple of weeks ago. https://www.bimhuis.nl/agenda/theo-ceccaldi-freaks-2/

Mamma Non Piangere No. 3, from 2017 and on the last batch of AltrOck releases. I never heard their second album, but the first one (from '77 I believe) is good and this one even better. I'm not in the clear as to whether these are new songs or old ones recorded anew, either way it's intensely colourful, satirical (mostly) vocal-based avant-progressive leaning towards some of Picchio dal Pozzo's work, or to unheralded Italian 70s brethren Gramigna or the much-missed 2000s act Garamond. Quite intricate and facceted. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this, as I've become a bit dry on Italian these last few years.
There's also the recent release by Allegri Leprotti (which apparently didn't make it into the AltrOck fold before the label folded, and consequently issued their record on Maracash), not totally unlike Mamma but more on the overt 'serious' end of things as opposed to the farce-like vibe of Mamma. Good stough from Italy.
