Guapo's History Of Visitation CD+DVD has the Nearfest 2006 performance (and it's monstrously good)

Personally I love the Forgas Band Phenomena DVD, really captures the performance.

It has half their performance. They didn't want to include Black Oni (they thought it was sub-par; I'm not sure I agree, but it is what it is and I do agree that what they put on the DVD was really, really great)

Nexus has continued to release albums, the most recent is from 2017. Haven't heard them though.

I have it in my memory that way, and I have it in a text file of the North Star & KL releases I still need. No source attribution though. Doubt if I would have put it in the text if I hadn't read it in an email or online.

I wasn't aware that Kevin had passed either. Glenn was the more socially active one online, so his passing was very obvious very quickly.

Chad, you need to add North Star to your list. Don't think it got a wide release, but it is out there. I bought it from Kevin years ago.

They are all excellent IMO. If you like their sound, you can't go wrong with any of them, including the Lalo Huber solo album!

Il Tempio delle Clessidre have about 20 minutes of their NEARFest Apocalypse set on
their "Live in Seoul" DVD as a Bonus.

I also seem to remember a Kenso DVD from NEARfest?

Wow, sound like there's alot more NEARfest releases than I realized. And I'm happy tosee that the Nexus one that I remembered seeing wasn't a bootleg.

I forgot I also have the La Torre Dell'Achemista and Steve Roach CD's. Roach brings up another funny thing, because I posted a photo of me and him from that weekend on Facebook. Then Peter Grenadier, the guy who built some of the modules he uses in his modular synth liked the picture and commented on it. I can't remember if I had friended Peter before that or not, but it was kinda cool that he spotted that picture and took the time to acknowledge it. I told Peter that I was aware that Steve had used his modules on Possible Planet, which is one of my favorite albums from him.

Wow, I didn't know about that. I also didn't know that the North Star set from NEARfest had been released.

I don't imagine their albums are still in print, are they?

Glad to hear it. I only have the first album. I guess I'm not as tuned in with what's going on, if they've put out that many records since 2000. If I remember correctly, they had just released, or were about to release, the second album, at the time of NEARfest, but I've never seen that one either. I'll have to look for some of those.

I sent an email to Kevin, so all should be answered one way or another.

Some of their stuff is available on Discogs.

Not a NEARfest-release as such, but released by NEARfest Records: After The Storm.

The North Star-release looks like a boot; there's also one from Happy The Man, recorded at the same NEARfest 2000.

Well, considering that it was purchased from the band, if it's a boot, it's an official one.

I have received a reply to the email from Kevin, and I can confirm that he is very much alive and well. The prior information I had was wrong and I am quite happy that it is. Apologies for the erroneous post.

Chris, I don't think a lot of the releases are available at source at this point. Keep an eye on the 2nd hand market.

I've just been in touch with Joe Newnam from North Star. He put out a solo album last year called "Flesh Wound" that apparently got some traction in Europe. It should be available on many of the streaming sites. And yes, Kevin is alive and well.
