1980 Interview With Triumvirat's Juergen Fritz!

Below are some links to an interview with Triumvirat's Juergen Fritz, taken from a book published in Germany, in German, in 1980 called "Rock Made In Germany" by Rainer Schroeder.

The top link was an attempt to translate by Google, the complete 32 page interview but only about two thirds was translated into English. The second link was a successful attempt to translate the rest of the interview into English.

Thanks for sharing this, I only read part of it and will go back to it later when I have some down time. Very interesting, I enjoyed his recollections of his musical journey.
I've been rebuilding my vinyl collection and recently purchased a mint copy of Illusions on a Double Dimple and will soon acquire my other favorite, Spartacus.
One of these nights I'm going to have a German Prog music night featuring Nektar and Triumvirat, but only with American watered down beer. lol
    Thank you again.

Slightly OT (forgive me) .... With all of the vinyl re-releases over time from so many bands, I’m wondering if Triumvirat’s catalog will undergo that as well. I recently listened to the Illusions remaster on CD from the 2000s and it was quite harsh. I’d love to see vinyl re-releases.

Thanks a lot for this, and if you or someone else would prefer a proper translation, you could post/share the original somewhere. Although it's fairly easy to get the proper meaning for most things, some of the literal translations of German colloquialisms are quite hilarious (and inevitable) :
e.g.. "But what they really had on the box was quite doubtful." (the original has to be: "Was sie wirklich am Kasten hatten, war eher/ziemlich zweifelhaft")
The actual meaning is: Their actual competence/abilities etc.
or: "Hartmut already had a couple of relationships back then." (originally: "Beziehungen", which can be either 'connections' or indeed relationships, with the former being the far more likely term)

Just buy the original cds and get rid of the remasters.

Thanks for your responses, people. Fritz mentions pre Illusions radio and tv appearances, and also the same in America and wouldn't that be cool if such could be unearthed! (I mean apart from the Ultrasonics show)
Also interesting that he mentions at one point flying to Toronto, as I have never heard reference to the band being there.
And such a sad turn of things for Helmut Koellen; he had to learn those English lyrics phoenetically, as he didn't know the language at the time, and probably for that, and maybe some other factors, he did not feel that at home in America, as Juergen points out. It was also too bad that his solo career did not take off the way he wanted to, either. He was also involved in drugs near the end of his life, poor fellow.
