Your 3 Interviews

Years ago I had heard a story on the radio about asking people if they could interview any 3 people living or dead who would they pick. The idea was that you didn’t know any of the other responses so it was supposed to be an insight into your personality. Well that would be impossible on here for obvious reasons but I thought it would be interesting just to think about what musical artists you would like to interview. So if you could pick 3 artists living or deceased who would you pick?
I know it’s hard to pick only 3 but that’s the point, narrowing it down to only the most essential persons.

Well, there have to be some ground rules here. For example, did Beethoven speak English? Because a few people are interviewing Beethoven. Will Jim Morrison know that he choked on his own vomit, in case his demise comes up?

I'd love to ask Muddy if he ever heard Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan and ask if he considered them to be "bluesmen" (Muddy once said that guitarists who used pedals "weren't playing the blues", so his opinion of Jimi or SRV might have been interesting).

Ra, I'd like to talk philosophy with him. I somehow have a feeling trying to talk about gear with him, getting specific info about his synths, or whatever, would be fruitless. Ya know what, I'd settle for auditing his university course that he taught circa 1970, I forget which college, but I believe it was on the West Coast.

With Mahler, I suppose I'd ask him about conductors like Leonard Bernstein, who've been criticized for taking too many "liberties" with, among other things, Mahler's music. I'd love to know what he'd think of Lenny's interpretations of his symphonies. Would like to nkow if he ever attempted composes anything outside of his symphonies or song cycles, e.g. did he ever consider concertos or sonatas or other types of compositions, or did he simply have no interest in those forms.

There's a few others I'd like to talk to, but the OP specified just three, so for now, that's where I'll stop.

Good Questions: I checked the rule book on this and it states in Section 3, paragraph 2 "All interviewees, will respond in English in a heavy NY Queen's accent in the style Tony Soporano". Section 12, paragraph 1 states: "All deceased interviewees will retain memory up until the time of death.", so yes we can has Morrison or Hendrix what it felt like to choke on their own vomit, however they were probably not conscious at the time.
