Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
My favorite is probably Wiederhören.
Probably because it's the first album I had (on a cassette-tape).
I went ballistic when Tournee came out, their melodic take on fusion was so unique. Flyday might be my favorite if was forced to choose.
I saw that tour in Copenhagen, and a friend of mine recorded the show and much later we relased it as a CDR via www.Kraan.dk (Peter Wolbrandt made the cover ) - The reason for this 'bold' step was, that Kraan at the time didn't own the rights to their own music and nobody had released the back-catalogue for more than 10 years or so. So fans were a bit pissed, and Peter Wolbrandt (who we knew) thus sold CDR's with the old Kraan albums.

This is Hellmuts bassolo from that concert:
Shortly after this episode their cd's was available again, and we stopped selling the CDR.

amazing that was a little over a month ago
just awesome
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
Just recently got into Kraan and totally digging it.

Is the new Romantic Warriors: Krautrock DVD the first every official Kraan video release, or was there something I missed?
Jan Fride likes the film medium and have done some footage over the years.
You can find some of them here: https://www.youtube.com/user/lambadalabor/videos

This one cracks me up. All these posh toffs keeping their distance, trying to ignore the band while all the aspiring rock musicians are lurking nearby paying close attention.
Kraan were so good they could competently jam in their sleep, but some of the music was clearly their "OK, we've given you all something to boogie to for long enough. Now we play what we want."
But what a horrible gig. Hope it paid well. It makes me think of one of Yes' early gigs, which was supposedly some high society shindig in 1969 where Tony Kaye said that after a while he and Peter Banks grabbed a bottle of champagne and passed out in the shrubbery.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
Graf (count) Metternich actually liked their music.
The house in Wintrup where they lived was owned by him.
Based on what he looks like today, I can totally see him as a Kraan fan. In fact, I'd guess it runs in the family.

Lots of great photos from the Wintrup time. 70'ties.

50 Jahre Kraan - the beginning 1971
Hellmut - bass, voice
Ingo Bischoff - keys
Udo Dahmen - drums
Roland Schaeffer - sax
Hubert Stütz - guitar
Sounds good to me. His voice doesn't bother me. I don't have the Bassball album, may need to check it out.
