I assume they are of superior intelligence so will get the CD, not the vinyl. Then again, couldn't Jon just think extraterrestrial thoughts and use his alpha waves to project the album out to them in order to save them the trip?

Agreed. The only slightly cringe-y song for me is "Surrender".

Is Robby SteinharDt's name supposed to have a capital D?

I can imagine a situation where Robbie Steinhardt saw a proof of something where it spelled his name Steinhart, and he wrote back "That's SteinharDt" and they took him at his word.

This must have cost a fortune, even if many of the big names participated via remote file-sharing (apparently Travers didn't...). In this age of minimal physical sales (see the Allan H thread) I can't see how a project like this could make money. Any idea who is financing this? and why?

I'm not sure it actually cost Jon that much out of pocket. He seems to be very good at cashing in on his name to get stuff for free. He may have just offered a small percentage of any profits to those who collaborated (those who actually asked to be paid.) But I don't get the sense that people like Pat Travers asked for anything.

"Not so much" = "except 'Boundaries'."

I love the song but prefer "All in a Matter of Time."

This album is about half built on a project started in c. 1990/1, possibly the Uzlot project by Brian Chatton (composer) and Anderson (lyricist). Squire, White and probably Howe's parts were recorded then. Rabin, Wakeman and most of the guests appear to have recorded parts in 2017/8.

Jon's "team" probably spent tons of time over the last 28 years just transferring these tracks onto the various new recording formats that appeared.

Olias is the only Jon solo work I find listenable, so I'm not overly optimistic given the odd and lengthy story behind this one.

Jon’s solo output is varied and I like a few of his works. Olias, Animation, Change We Must and parts of Song of Seven I like quite a bit. I’m definitely interested in this but not holding my breath on it.

This is one of the best things he's done IMO.

Those are the keepers for me too. The only thing I would add is Deseo but that's in part b/c I'm a Milton Nascimento fan as much as a Yes fan. YMMV.

Deseo is very nice. As is Change We Must (which is in fact brilliant!) and Toltec.

I have not heard that one. How does it differ from Toltec?

Jon's solo work is like sugar candy that's too sweet to be enjoyable.

Yes put some needed tartness into the recipe.
