Does anyone know anything about the bonus track that seems to be on the new version? One hopes that we early adopters will be able to somehow access it without re-buying the album, which is not in my plan.

I don't believe there is a bonus track. The track listing has the same 11 songs as the original release: https://www.blueelan.com/product/jon...digital-album/
When this album was coming out the first time, there was a lengthy delay after the initial announcement and then it was announced that they added the bonus track of "Now and Again". So maybe that is still considered the "bonus track"?

Jon talks about what he is working on now and what he is dreaming about in this new interview to promote 1000 Hands:
Anderson and Michael Franklin "are now contemplating a choral album of four 20-minute pieces with orchestration. “Since the beginning of the virus and we were told to stay home that’s what I’ve been working on,” Anderson reveals. “I’m asthmatic so I’m not going anywhere, so I’ve spent the last three months doing all this vocalising work on the music.”"
“I just had a dream the other week where I would start the show with my guitar and sing a couple of songs and then Steve (Howe)’s band will play and then Rick (Wakeman) and Trevor (Rabin) and myself will play something and we’ll all get together and play Close To The Edge and Awaken and Bob’s your uncle. If it happens, then it happens.”
^ Well, Steve had a dream where he gave Jon a boot to the head, so unless Rick has a kumbaya dream where they all work things out, it's probably all off.

Could be. He talks about it again in another recent interview:
But no contract was required from Anderson’s favorite recent cameos: various species of wild songbirds that flutter around his house, whose numbers seem to have increased, the more vocal males’ trills reverberating stronger without manmade noises to squelch them. The warblers didn’t make it onto “Hands,” he adds. They’re part of his next project after that album...“The birds are actually part of something that I just put out on the internet, and it’s called ‘Jon Anderson — Joyfulness.’ It’s just these four 20-minute works of me just playing music with the birds singing. I got some recordings of streams and rivers, and then just recorded the birds right outside here in my room, my studio. And it all worked out, you know?”
The bucolic films are a pandemic panacea. Anderson plans on padding them with colorful flourishes of orchestra and a chorale group next year.
But his feathered friends, like Anderson himself for over 50 years in Yes, keep singing their hearts out in “Opus 1-4.” He adds, “People think bird songs are just repetition, but no — there are nuances in their vocabulary, so I imitate three beautiful bird songs in this project, to indicate the differences in the way they sing.”
WOW, Just got and heard this album. A true GEM, it is brilliant from start to finish, a huge accomplishment for JON late in his career but I'm sure very rewarding.
Songs on "1000 Hands" join in a joyous celebration, it carries a continuous flow and the harmonies are impeccable. Jon outdid himself.
My favorite since Olias of Sunhillow and Animation, been quite a while.
Highly recommended.
*Been thinking about how Jon is doing during the tragic and devastating California fires, I hope he and his family are safe (if anyone knows, please share).
These aren't the same "epics" he said he wrote with Yes in mind are they? Sometime ago he said he had the 4 long form pieces ready to record with Yes/orchestra etc. I've listened to the ones he posted on Youtube last fall multiple times.. I've enjoyed each listen.. they are great as "ambient" music..

An edit of the album 1000 Hands, combining sections from most tracks, re-imagining it as a single 26 minute prog epic:
^ Interesting. Will give it a listen.

That was a lot of work! Thanks for posting.
There's a bit in "Activate" at 3:33 where Anderson sings "Secret of music, soul of emotion" that always sounds to me that it comes from this...
... which was the theme tune to the first (and best) "Ghost in the Shell" spin-off anime series.

Dude, that has to be the first time I've seen anyone mention anime here (at least as far as I can remember). Didn't know you liked any; that's very cool. I haven't seen that Ghost In the Shell spin-off, but I'll have to check it out.
Cool song too. Thanks for sharing.

Kinda random.....new video for Jon and band doing "First Born Leaders"
Give him credit. His hasn't lost his spirit and still sings like he did 40 years ago.
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
Indeed! Spirit is everything, and Jon is just as possessed as he's always been. Thanks Jon, and thanks Dan for sharing!
