New STERBUS double album - "Real Estate / Fake Inverno"

Hello to all, I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post this, I've waited more then three weeks since his release day asking myself if it was ok to do a bit of self-promotion here, but given all the good words and reviews I've received so far I decided to do this post. If someone thinks otherwise, just let me know and I'll move it.

STERBUS is a band from Rome, essentially a duo formed by me, Emanuele Sterbini, songwriter, singer, guitar and bass player and Dominique D'Avanzo, singer, flutist, clarinetist and writer of most of the lyrics.

Our main influences are Cardiacs, Xtc, King Crimson, The New Pornographers, Steven Wilson, Blur, Elliott Smith, The Beatles...so we're not strictly a progressive band but we like to think that we try to give power-pop some new twists, trying to working a bit more on chord-changes, harmonies, structures...

We had the greatest honor to have BOB LEITH of Cardiacs on drums, but the album has also contributions from the splendid CHARLIE CAWOOD (Knifeworld), DEBZ JOY and DAVID SHERIDON (The Army of Moths), NICK PROL (Nick Prol and the Proletarians), ADRIAN BECKWITH (Barnslou Trio), NOEL STOREY (The Pocket Gods) plus other guests on trumpet, alto sax, flute, clarinet, marimba, electric piano, celtic harp...

Now stop talking: if someone wants to give a listen and provide some appreciated feedback, here's a link to it:
    https://sterbus.bandcamp.com/album/r...e-fake-inverno

    About the title:
SUMMER is spelled ESTATE in italian, while INVERNO means WINTER.

"REAL ESTATE - CD one - is a joyous rampage through a circus of questionable sanity....a definite rollercoaster ride up towards the Sun.
FAKE INVERNO - CD two - is definitely more autumn..... beautiful golden leaves, cold evenings, reflective, and you wrap the songs around you to keep you warm."

It goes without saying that supporting Major Parkinson in London at the Water Rats, playing these tunes with Bob in the band and Tim in the audience has been probably one of the best nights of my life. Goosebumps.

"Maybe Baby" is such a fantastic tune! I love the daring harmonic changes, but very musical/pop outer shell. Its definitely Timmy influenced but undoubtedly has its own thing going on. Nice vocals too.....just lovely all around.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

Thank you, I appreciate your comment!
Oh, and thank you Paul and "and I love her" for letting me go up a semitone for the guitar solo!

Just knowing a guy named Noel was involved - makes my skin crawl. He's dirty gross and ugly. I guess this one is ok - not my cup of tea - well... now that I really think about it - its total rubbish. Belongs in a landfill. LMAO.

Ok ok - its f'in awesome. Top to bottom a damn fine recud.

Our first review in english, from The Progressive Aspect (thanks Roger Trenwith)

Real Estate/Fake Inverno covers many bases over its combined 73 minutes, and is wisely split into two albums, as it would be a lot to take in on one CD. If you have a liking for classy pop, this is the “feel good album of the Autumn” you have been waiting for!

New very good review of the album by Lee Henderson of american site Art Rockin'.... give it a spin!

"Simply one of the absolute best releases of 2018, and that is keeping company with a dozen or more premium monumental albums sent to me this year. ‘Real Estate/Fake Inverno’ has the weight of a lost Beatles/Cardiacs archive, that finally comes to light, then was polished and preened by Sterbus. ..it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Good Day ~

Opened up this thread, read the initial post, and had a feeling that this would appeal to Dave Sr! I listened to each sample posted here and there certainly are some VERY appealing things going on. Interesting, to me perhaps, that this 'kind' of music really is so good BUT my not finding immediate fancy in the Cardiacs, Knifeworld, and/or some others in the neighborhood ilk, has me on my somewhat slow track to having them as part of my music world!

    Funny Thing... this Music
    Carry On

    Thanks for listening Winkersnufs!
We basically wanted to do a joyous power-pop record, having some good fun with a plethora of instrument... some songs have a million chords or sections for your average pop(ular) song!
