Not to change the subject, but, there is a really great Paul Gilbert show on the Iridium website from Sept. 27 premiering much of Paul's new album Behold Electric Guitar.

    the immodium stream

    love it!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

    Thank you for the link.
It's past my bedtime over here, so I hope it stays in the archive for later viewing.

Has anyone gotten it to work? Mine freezes within seconds of opening the link. Odd, because I watched one of their archived stream shows (Oz Noy) with no difficulties this afternoon.

Hopefully this will be archived for a while as well.

It's working for me. Your clicking on that little array of squares in the bottom right?

I gather they started late? I expected to miss most of it because it was commute hour here in the west. But I got to see most of it.

Big thanks to nadappaz for alerting us to this!

I took some IMODIUM® so I didn't have to leave the room in the middle of it.

I left NYC back in 1990. The Bottom Line was *the* place back then (and Irving Plaza for HC/underground)

never been to the Iridium, but it looks exactly like the Bottom Line from the video camera angle.
For some reason, I always thought the Iridium was just the remodeled Palladium on 14th St. ???

Great show on the Iridium site last night. Some new tunes, some old. Looking forward to seeing them in March in Berkeley.

The Iridium is midtown, like 51st and Broadway.

Yep, The Bottom Line was great. I saw some amazing shows there - John Cale twice (with a brand new Violent Femmes opening once), Gong, Roy Harper, Flower Kings, Camel. Maybe a couple of others, and I know there were many, many other interesting shows there I didn't go to. A classic venue, sadly gone, no thanks to NYU who owned the space and wouldn't give the manager a deal on rent.

I just looked it up, and NYU also bought the space the Palladium was in and built a dorm called The Palladium! Fuckers! Oh well, constant change is here to stay...
