" My advice is to get them off right after your shoes and before your trousers... that's the sock gap. Miss it and suddenly you're a naked man in socks. No self-respecting woman will let a naked man in socks do the squelchy with her. "

"So, of course, one of the biggest questions on a release like this that comes out 45 years later is how is the sound?
I’m listening to it now. When it’s at its loudest, it kinda turns a bit soupy and indistinct.
But mostly it is shockingly well balanced and VERY clear; the sound in the venue must’ve been extremely good.
For what it is - a 1974 audience tape - this is a really good recording with excellent balance between the instruments, a SMOKING performance, and is even modestly mid to hi-fi-ish, except for the loud sections, which are ok, but definitely weaker sonically."

Packaging is a big old triple fold out with the CD's in little pockets within the foldout, so be careful not to carry it upside down, or the CD's will fall onto the floor and give you a mini heart attack, which I certainly did not do. In my opinion, like Steve said, it's an incredible performance, and I don't believe there's another Magma album of that time that gives an audience perspective as to how huge they sounded, all we have is controlled, professionally recorded documents which sound great, but don't quite give the scale that this performance does. It's not Magma Live in sound, but you can hear pretty much everything they're doing.
A vie, a mort, et apres...
Thanks both of you.
I think I may have to get it...even though I already have the live box set
Are there any samples anywhere to check out?
Just got this in the mail yesterday, but haven't been able to give it a listen yet. Looking forward to it though!
Can there ever be too much live Magma? I'm not sure...

Its good, thats why.
Considering how relatively small a repertoire Magma has, and we still want to hear it again and again, with different arrangements, different crew, time periods, etc.
You need it. The version of Kohntarkosz is developmental- it contains pieces from KA, for example, that do not appear in later versions, and it has the Hallelujah chorus that is way cool. But mostly it has this huge gigantic bass sound from Top. Sound quality is a bit muddy, but if you move the volume up it works out pretty well. It is a good add. Now Iif I can just get them to release Chicago 1999...
I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.
live Magma is always great but it's a bit disappointing that so many of them are from 1974 - their repertoire got more interesting over time, and as great as MDK/Kohntarkosz are idk how many live versions of those tunes you really need
that said...yeah I'm buying this anyway

I don't mind more live Magma, but as far as King Crimson goes... I don't care at all about any more live recordings.
Have they ever released anything that has Morrison On The Storm on it?
Not legit to my knowledge, but

Wow, although the sound quality is clearly better bootleg this is a awesome
document.
Kohntarkosz is clearly in development but in his roughness it's pure anarchy (like the whole concert).
Vander es un dieu de batterie!!!
Overall I would say the sound rather adds to this wild concert than being distractive.
Another recording that shows me why I dislike Punk, you can have it all without being boring!
