Thread: Yes - Live at the Apollo - Audience Track is BRUTAL

  1. #26
I rarely go to see live music these days, but when I do, I go to listen and not to be part of the show by whooping and hollering. Then again, I'm sober.

That's the edited version. Look for the full video with the bass solo intact.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

So, to sum up this new release, the audience sucks both in fakeness and lifelessness. You won't be able to watch it it's so brutal. And don't get us started on the cover art. Zero stars.

He slammed Rush's Power Windows but praised Hold Your Fire. He is usually funny but obviously delusional on the mid 80s Rush front.

Hey, honest question: do I have to view the concert footage to complain about the audience noise or can I just jump right in and start complaining?

well if you've been brutalized by the crowd noise from listening to the cd, please feel free to use that as a reference point because the title of the thread just reads
Yes Live at the Apollo Audience track is BRUTAL.

I think all you brutalized folks need to start a PTSD group and lick your wounds in unison.

The important question is "Is the fake audience standing or sitting?"

I'd rather have a paying audience making fake noise than a paid audience making real noise.

    (I think.)

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

So did they fill the seats with blow up dolls and then add the fake crowd noise?

I bet Trevor used the same laugh track on both. I mean noise track.

Though, I'm sure some people would think a laugh track would be more appropriate.

Probably something to do with ARW playing pretty much the same set Yes played on the Union tour. Swap out Perpetual Change for YIND and there you go.

What Union Live album? I got the DVD of Union concert vids, and they're mostly board recordings, with some of them being monitor send recordings (!). Terrible mix. Anyway, might you be thinking of the KTA CD recordings, where there was absolutely nothing live on it?

Unfortunately, no Lift Me Up or Shock to the System.

However, the re-titled Saving My Heart for You is included.
