It seems like he was perhaps the first musician within soul music to really use the album's potential for creating a mood, rather than just being a bunch of songs.
    Hot Buttered Soul is also one of my favs, great stuff.

    Here’s a pretty comprehensive compilation; just look at that track list! I like how the packaging makes it look like a stack of 8-track tapes!

    Those Rhino collections back then were amazing...hardly any of them came out in the UK, though. And they would have been expensive!
