Interesting, but is the DVD entirely in black & white? I just bought a color TV.

I'm not sure, but this short teaser from Happy Family is in color:

I remember when I bought my first color-tv in 1984 after having watched Marnie in black and white, knowing the meaning of RED in the picture.

Just got it from Wayside and I agree there are some great performances and some artists I haven't seen before - and yes it's in color professionally shot. Haven't watched the whole thing yet but I really liked the Le * Silo stuff - hadn't seen them before.

This is on my buy list now.
Le Silo was also at RIO X in Carmaux last year. Besides their spectacular trio show (especially , the keyboard player Miyako Kanizawa's outbursts and fun antics), they let students from local schools stand in with the band. So lovely to see their parents "proudly enduring" the show.

were the whole shows taped or just the pieces released on this DVD?
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

No one ever tapes just one song from a show. IF you are taping, whole shows are always taped; what if the track you were leaning towards saying 'yes' to isn't performed that well, etc etc etc etc etc.

That's what I assumed. If you are going to go through the hassle you might as shoot everything. but a compilation like this just confuses me, especially since my assumption was confirmed.

Even so the RIO Tokyo festival was a success , it was a big financial loss for the promoters and the choice to release a single compilation DVD as souvenir for fans a decent option. I just regret that they didn't included some festival ambiance footage
