    Mike Mantler 75

Like many I have been initially aware of him when hearing The Hapless Child in the mid 70's and since then been following his musical journeys through the decades - A fascinating musician I must tell you .
Curious to hear of any other fans around here

Udi- Mike has a new disc out on ECM that, wonder of wonder, features Himiko Paganotti, late of Magma, as the lead singer. It is sort of an art cycle, beautifully done, with typical ECM sound engineering.

I count myself as a fan. Incidentally, I’ve been listening to his albums No Answer and Silence a lot these days. Pretty adventurous stuff, interesting marriage between music and poetry.

13 & 3/4 and The Hapless Child are also favorites. My neighbors hate him.

I know him from the Jazz Composer's Orchestra, Carla Bley, Charlie Haden, and Gary Burton. With Wyatt I have The Hapless Child and Hide and Seek.

My favs are both "Movies" albums, "Something There" and "Live", which is a superb driving album. If the weather is stormy, rainy and the sky is about to fall.
