But now there is a good guitarist and drummer on board, and that is progress !
I like her voice, but it tends to get a bit tedious that she always is 'holding back' (song after song). But - thats her style. I wish there had been more choir/overdubs (like in Hatfield).
More jazz chords, more odd meters, Lowrey organ, more ugly sounds would have been nice, but then again it wouldnt have been Stewart/Gaskin.

But all together, I like it.

“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.

Thanks for the feedback. I like S&G well enough, but always hope for more-like the untitled instrumental at the end of 'Spin'.

Steve Coleman and the Council of Balance - Synovial Joints. Fascinating jazz, with rhythms based on Coleman's perception of biological rhythms. Not particularly tonal or melodic; if you're interested in experimental or avant garde jazz, this fills that need nicely.
I think the subtext is rapidly becoming text.

Worst record I've heard in quite some time.

I actually saw him 'perform' once.
    Some sort of PTSD lingers.
There was a Bowie connection as I recall.

It really is nice, and I like it more than I did at first. I'd love to hear it with someone like Annie Haslam singing. He is a beautiful composer.

A live recording in Milwaukee from 2014 that I had to eBay from Poland for a physical copy. I'm not a huge free jazz guy but DKV always seem to provide enough structure in their playing for me to be able to enjoy it.

Totally agreed. He's not a bad singer, but having someone like Annie on it would definitely elevate it to new heights.

Still, it's full of lovely compositions and I keep hoping he will do a follow up.
