Just now, Sofia Rei, "El Gavilan". This is not related to any of John Zorn's work, but she was part of the Mycale quartet on two Book of Angels discs, and she will have the lead-off volume in Book of Beri'ah when it releases next week. She has a superb voice.
This morning, Book of Angels, Vol. 21: Alastor, by Eyvind Kang. For those who like Secret Chiefs 3 Book of Angels Vol. 9, Xaphan, Vol. 21: Alastor would be a good follow-up. Kang has played (viola) with Secret Chiefs 3.
I think the subtext is rapidly becoming text.

Entirely different? I think they have more similarities than differences. Both are comprised of four long songs broken down into movements of various lengths having classic 'prog rock' song structures. Both have very YES-like elements while still retaining their own unique identity. The biggest difference I see is that the Invention of Knowledge album comes across as, while well done, fairly predictable prog by the numbers, which seems to be Roine Stolt's MO anyhow. Whereas the Perfect Beings album takes some unexpected turns and has a more modern feel to it.
