Listened to and watched Styx The Grand Illusion&Pieces of Eight tour DVD.
I am a fan of Dennis De Young, but whenever I watch one of Styx's concerts and Lawrence Gowan plays or performs a song, I find myself asking "Dennis who?".
Gowan is amazing, both on keyboards and as a lead singer.
I was skeptical at first when I first read he'd taken over Dennis' spot, but now I'm a fan!

Lobby Loyde. In the final stages of Cancer he still had a tune left in him

“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

I've spun it 3 or 4 times in my car. The vocals, as usual, are excellent. Several longish songs we nice hooks and conveying emotion. Funny thing is I need to absorb it some more to fully appreciate it. My initial impression is really quite favourable.
