It has to be one or the other. This is one of the handful of best Soft Machine CDs, IMO.
It is top notch indeed. But I basically love all the soft cunies, so I won't choose favorites.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

    The same here!.
And I couldn't pass up this opportunity: "Virtually" is a great historical and musical archive of S.M.!.

    Pura Vida!

I just looked through this thread and hope some people picked up that Chainsaw Jazz album when it was on sale. I really like it.

Probably not many copies left, either.

Big accolades should be due for everything this label has released from Soft Machine, IMO.

The live albums and BBC sessions fill in the many gaps that are left by the band's official studio recordings. Soft Machine kept changing and evolving and some of their major steps were never documented on a studio album. And very often, the live performances exceed the studio stuff by a fair margin.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of this week's sale item, though. I bought both of the Schnellertollermeir albums, but apart from the long title track to the X album, which exhibits their virtues in the most charitable light, their music doesn't do much for me. And I normally like that kind of thing.

The sales continue, but I usually forget to post. Today I remembered.

This week: "Eddy Loves Frank" by The Ed Palermo Big Band

    hey, thanks for posting.

    Also:
I sort of decided I was tired of being a lonely shilling voice, so I am not posting the weekly items in this thread any more unless people really 'demand' it.

I figured if people are interested, they can subscribe to the e-blast.

    - Love T.P. and “In Extremis” is a favorite here!! -

Steve, I'm following Cuneiform in bandcamp but I don’t get these emails or alerts:
    - sorry for my ignorance, what is the “e-blast” ?, I want to subscribe.

    Thanks in advance!

Colours Fulfilled is my favorite. You cant' really go wrong with anything they did, but Birdman and Poem About The Hero are the next obvious steps, IMO.

    Thanks for the recommendations!.

It's until today that I've been able to sit down and listen/enjoy this good album: too many things going on that have kept my attention from the beginning to the end !!.

    Now I'm on the second spin … g r e a t !
    Love it!.
