Pink Floyd - Their Mortal Remains

“Daddy's flown across the ocean, leaving just a memory, a snapshot in the family album - Daddy what else did you leave for me?”

Well, how about Their Mortal Remains?

If like me, you couldn’t get to the Pink Floyd exhibition in London, you might be interested in the book produced to accompany that exhibition. It's not cheap, and I needed a crane to lift it off the bookstore shelf, but I’ve been immersing myself in its contents, and have shared some thoughts (and some images) in a new blog post:

Hopefully this'll offer a bit of useful observation for any of you wondering whether to add yet another Floyd tome to the coffee table.

If I can find this unwrapped in a bookstore I’d like to see the images. That’s about it. Thanks for the review - definitely helpful!

So is Their Mortal Remains the definitive book on the Floyd, or is it simply an expensive souvenir guide book for those who’ve seen the exhibition?
    Good question.
For those of you looking for something a little more detailed, I’d recommend Echoes: The Complete History of Pink Floyd by Glenn Povey
    That's been my go-to reference.
The surviving members make no direct contribution to the book’s text, and in some ways that’s probably for the best.
So, it *is* just a $55 scrapbook then.

Looks interesting. The Goodall piece probably very interesting.

Under $24 on Amazon currently, and the content looks cool enough to be well worth it.

Many thanks for posting the heads-up and the link to the review.

I just ordered (all 3) Mortal Remains, Echoes, and the book from Nick Mason.
They will be in the reading stack for the trip to the beach this Fall.

Fair to say this will eventually make it's way across the big pond and tour America?

I hope you have a large beach bag! The Mason book is huge, as I think is the Mortal Remains book. You can use them as a sun shade.

Will it make it to the US? I think that is quite likely? Touring? My guess (because it is a huge thing to set up and take down) is at best it would go to a big museum on the East Coast and one on the West Coast but even more likely it will only go to just one and that's it.

Really looking forward to seeing it in Germany as I had no opportunity to go see it in London.
