We saw “Quiet Place II” in IMAX yesterday. I thought it was well done and maybe even better than the first one, which I just thought was ok. I think this is a film that probably works better in a theater than at home. My wife and sister both practically jumped out of their chairs at a couple of points in the movie. The opening flashback sequence is well done and of course they leave things open for a sequel. Bottom line if you liked the first one you will probably dig this one.
Watched the original Manchurian Candidate (Frank Sinatra, Janet Leigh) last night. Great movie.
It is. I loved the scenes of the garden party. And, of course, the funny bit in how Angela Lansbury & James Gregory finally came up with the number of communists in the Defense Department. The thing I was most amazed by was [spoiler]the implication of incest when Angela Lansbury kissed Laurence Harvey on the lips. I was like, "whoa!"

My pick for best movie villian in such named thread was Angelea Lansbury's charactori in The Manchurian Canidate , due in no small part this scene. Totally evil , coldly calculating SOB.
Sometimes an Iselin can actually be elected in real life. In truth I was amazed at the parallels to this movie in recent past in politics. The Manchurian Canadate immeadiatly came to mind.
Okay, this looks right up my alley. First of all, the trailer does not give away most of the film, secondly it looks like an old school Argento kind of horror, which I find most tantalizing.

I stand corrected - We get TCM but I don't see any Hitchcock movies.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

Watched The Mauritanian last night. Excellent movie about torturing and holding without charges an innocent man at Guantanamo Bay for 14 years, and the efforts by lawyers to get him freed.
