Favorite? I don't know. I like a lot for different reasons.

I like Discovery One from 2001 and the Valley Forge from Silent Running because they seem realistic.

The shuttles in Alien and Aliens I liked a lot.

And how could anyone not like the mother ship from Close Encounters?

Of all the Star Trek ships, I liked Voyager best. The Borg Cube is a close second; it's so menacing looking.

The Pan Am Space Clipper from 2001 has got to be the coolest looking ship ever.

But the ultimate has got to be the Star Destroyer from Star Wars. It's just so damn iconic.

I love the Enterprise, but recently found a new favorite which I absolutely love
    And?

Her--didn't rent this one for a long time, but I knew about two minutes into it I'd probably like it. Pretty arty all the way thru, most of it involves relationships.

Under the Skin--I re-watched this one and enjoyed it better the second time around. Pretty atmospheric in places.

all of those are great of course

but my new favorite, both exterior and especially interior is the Avalon from 2016's 'Passengers'
I would not mind living a few years on *that* ship

I came across "Owning Mahowny" starring the great Philip Seymour Hoffman on Sony Movie Channel. An ok film, based on a true story, with the usual stunning performance by PSH as a bank manager with a gambling problem who embezzles bank funds to feed his addiction. John Hurt is terrific as the Atlantic City casino manager who sees the protagonist (Mahowny) for the "whale" that he is and uses every seamy trick in the book to keep Mahowny coming back, losing larger and larger sums. I'll watch just about anything with PSH in it and, though this one is not a classic by any means, his understated performance as the spiraling bank manager is just seamless.

Yes, I thought so. I didn't quite get the ending on why Johansson left, but it didn't bother me.

Welcome to the Dollhouse--bittersweet drama, comedy, or dramedey about a young girl in the 7th grade, growing up in suburban New Jersey. Pretty well done.

Immortal Beloved--biopic about the mighty Beethoven. He was a bit of a bastard at least shown in this movie.

The Descent (2005) - Six women go spelunking in an unexplored cavern and are attacked by CHUDs. Filmed in England.

Big Kill (2018) - A Philadelphia accountant seeks his brother in the West. He befriends two fugitive gamblers and they travel to a former boom town in Arizona that is ruled over by assholes. Predictable gunfight ensues. Decent western, if, like me, you dig westerns. Filmed in New Mexico.

That's the one with Gary Oldman. I saw it when it was released. It was a good movie even if it was a typical big budget biopic (i.e. not entirely accurate). Oddly, the thing I found most interesting was that on Beethoven's piano the naturals were black and the sharps/flats were white. After seeing the movie, I looked it up and found out that that's the way pianos were, originally.

    Catfight

    2016, on Netflix

Sandra Oh and Anne Heche star as former college friends who have a chance meeting at an event, and rivalry ensues. Alicia Silverstone is
still adorable and plays Anne's girlfriend. This was better than I thought it would be. Neither gal is the least bit likable. Bonus points for getting
to see Sandra and Anne beat the hell out of each other multiple times!

    Good one!

Love PSH, he steals every scene he's ever been in.

^^The last ten or so minutes of it are missing, from what I read over at YT, but that still leaves an hour and a half or so. You can rent the full physical disc over at NFLX if interested too.

Watched Motherless Brooklyn last night, very good period detective story in New York with Edward Norton. Good storyline and good acting.

Good to hear - I have it recorded.

All The President's Men (1976) - Watched it last night after seeing it in 1976. Excellent acting, profound story, nicely paced.
