You sure that comment was not meant for a different movie? Apollo 11...wacky as hell?

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

The Ox-Bow Incident (1942, starring Henry Fonda) is a classic western movie I recently found on DVD. The novel of the same name, by Nevada author Walter Van Tilburg Clark, is an excellent book.
Can this be the swan song? The final elbow?

Excellent movie and one of my favorite westerns... and one of my favorite Henry Fonda movies.

For anyone who cares to know, TCM is doing a 24 hour memorial Doris Day marathon. The action starts next Sunday morning at 6:00am Eastern time. Be there or be dodecagon!

The Ruins--a horror flick was on TV the other night, it was okay for a watch.

The Steel Helmet--saw it over Memorial Day about the Korean war, but Sam Fuller. I'd never seen it and it's worthwhile.

Kelly's Heroes--I'd seen it at the cinema back in the day. It's entertaining, but a bit too long. Sort of serious & sort of uneven with Suterland's character, Oddball, but I guess that comic relief.

Watched Terry Pratchett's Going Postal, really excellent version of the book, loved it.

I've been watching reruns of the Bob Newhart Show, and yeah, she's pretty hot. Funny, too.

The people who make the Pratchett movies are very faithful to the books, in general; unlike, say, Peter Jackson, they know they have a text that is semi-sacred to a lot of people and don't mess with it beyond what the difference between movies and books absolutely requires.

Us (2019). The horror movie from Jordan Peele that stars Lupita Nyong'o. After Get Out, which I thought was really good if over-hyped, I had high hopes for this. My hopes were dashed. IMO, a major plot point required too much suspension of disbelief. Still, I liked the ending. So, it's got that going for it.

I'll give Us a try some day. I thought Get Out was a very clever film and loved the ending. Don't fuck with the TSA!
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

I think the thing with Pratchett is that its generally quiet clever humour & if you mess with that you screw up big time. It helps that Pratchett was involved in the screenplay.
