FERNANDO PERDOMO and THE OUT TO SEA BAND at ProgDay 2018!

FERNANDO PERDOMO and THE OUT TO SEA BAND at ProgDay 2018!

FERNANDO PERDOMO has been making a name for himself as a producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. As owner and operator of Reseda Ranch Studios (Reseda, CA), he has been involved in a diverse range of musical productions, including work with Linda Perhacs, Dean Ford, Andy Pratt, Rebecca Pidgeon, Cristina Vane, Jacob Jeffries, The Dirty Diamond, Ex Norwegian, and Alih Jey. To progressive rock fans, he is probably best known as guitarist (and sometimes bassist) of the Dave Kerzner Band.

For Fernando’s fifth solo album, Out To Sea, he decided to celebrate his love of progressive rock with a collection of instrumental symphonic rock pieces. Playing all of the instruments himself on the studio recording, The Out To Sea Band was formed to bring this music to the live stage. The band will be performing material from the album Out To Sea, and more.

Join FERNANDO PERDOMO & THE OUT TO SEA BAND, PIXIE NINJA and SOFTEN THE GLARE for the twenty-fourth edition of ProgDay. ProgDay is a two day outdoor festival of progressive rock. ProgDay 2018 will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 1st and 2nd, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. For more information, please visit us at www.progday.net.

This ought to be fun. Not sure what else they’ll play aside from the Out to Sea album, but I think he’s already working on another Prog album so maybe some material from that. Some of his other solo stuff might go over well too, and maybe a few covers.

Another great pick. You only get a hint of it in the video, but the drummer (Derek Cintron) is an absolute monster. Loved watching his playing while on Cruise to the Edge.

You can hear that. Even if you don't count the polish, inventiveness, and solidity of his fills, he's right there on it, like Nick D'Virgilio. Some years ago, I saw post-Morse Spock's Beard, and it struck me that while both Nick and Jimmy were good drummers, there was no question as to who was better - while Nick was no flashier a player, he powered the band in a way that Jimmy didn't.
