After all, they've been around for a long time.

Pretty much more of the same. Lots of Floydian guitar excursions. Nice mix of space, psych, progressive and stoner.

Agreed. I'm guessing that the reason I have always liked this band is because felt that on their earlier releases, they had a fairly strong prog vibe. I do enjoy the Gilmour-influence guitar excursions on this one and spacey keyboards, but there's enough here to keep my interest.

I am streaming the new Black Mountain. It's a strange beast. Amber is gone but the new female voice is up to the task. Musically it is in a weird place; part heavy psych, part stoner, and some metal. There's synths all over the place and some bits sound very 80s to me. I will probably buy it, it's starting to grow on me.

I actually picked up the new Black Mountain. I like it better than the previous one, but my favorite, surprisingly enough, is the more straight-forward "Wilderness Heart".

Really enjoying Monkey3's Sphere. Feels like they're starting to come into their own.

Good album! I believe Mantra machine are supposed to follow this one up in the near future. I thought I was sent an e-mail to that effect a few months ago...
