Seeing this band with a cool name mentioned on this thread a few times got me to search for their music on YouTube. This is what I came up with.

Hey JIF, maybe you'll become as big a Fu fanatic as I am. This album is right in the middle of a run of four great, must-have albums:
    Daredevil
    In Search of...
    The Action is Go
    King of the Road

California Crossing is next and its a bit more streamlined but I think its still great. Their latest "Signs of Infinite Power" is also thick with fuzz and quite good. The only ones I have that don't scratch the itch is "Start the Machine" (short songs, shouted lyrics, too much like punk rock) and "We Must Obey" (a bit better but still some punk influence).

Not that into the space/psych side of stoner but just heard a Casa Sui track on the 420 Trainwreck internet station and will explore them further, love that wah-wah guitar.
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...

I don't think this band has been posted yet. Just heard a track by them on 420 Trainwreck but this seems to be the only tune they have posted on Youtube:

I wish I could get into Fu Manchu more than I do. I don't mind them, but I can barely remember what I heard when it's over. I'm not a big fan of the vocalist either, who has that bratty 90s surf punk style I never warmed to. Still they are worth at least trying for anyone getting this genre as lots of people love them.

I only have one from them (a 2010 release) and I never warmed up to them either.

It's been a quiet spell for me on the stoner buying front of late. Just absorbing all the stuff I recently purchased.

I have a lot of the FM catalog. I like pretty much all of it, including Start the Machine & We Must Obey.

Re The Walruz, according to Metal Archives, they released one EP and they've since disbanded.

Thanks for the heads up, Garden Dreamer. I have a Sabbath itch that still needs to be scratched. When I got all the Yes and Genesis that I wanted, I went to bands like Starcastle and IQ to scratch that particular itch.

Acid King show on dime: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=461951

    ACID KING
    Stoned from the Underground 2013
    Alperstedter See, Erfurt, Thueringen, Germany
    July - 12 - 2013
    Day # 2 - Act # 8 (21:10 -> 22:10)

    ---
a LORD DIE recording VOL. 61
    ---
    Rec. Info:
Zoom H2 with internal mics (at WAV 16/44) -> SDcard -> Spaceloop USB stick (received at Krach am Bach Festival) -> Audacity (edit/remaster) -> WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME ->
YOUR EARS AND MIND...free to be stoned (for the rest of your natural life)! (quote: CLARK/HUTCHINSON 1970!)
Recorded by dear LORD DIE from various positions, but as I know him, mostly directly front stage dead center.A few recordings may have a little distortion on it, but the quality of
his recordings have increased a lot due to a little advise by me and his hometown friends SEETHELIGHT7 and SEETHEFUZZ7. As usual, you get some real fine pictures from him as well.
Feel free to do artwork, as I'm trying to figure out each setlist, ok? All thanks straight to him, a resident of the lovely Nuernberg area...
    ---
Additional info: The left channel was unfortunately very distorted, so I decided to copy the right channel, and make this a "fake stereo". The immense overload of fuzzbass was too much
for the internal mics of the Zoom H2. Sorry to say, but better this way, than just plain white noise on one channel...hope you agree...
    --- ---
Opening up the gates of real FUZZ for this band! Round # 6 from the taped bands from lovley STONED FROM THE UNDERGROUND will bring you some heavy fuzzy doomer stony rock!
Veterans of the STONER/DOOM scene since 1993, this band has its origins in San Francisco, CA. Since those daze some 20 years ago, they'd gone through many changes on the bass duties,
but this lineup seems to be constant since 2005. So...a band from SF, and even a stoner band...and I have not even heard a single second from them before...Blame me for my missing
knowledge, but better be late late than never...This is a weird sounding show, and the "fuzzers" will love it. So, put on your ear protection, save your home systems bass input...
and all I can say: Worth checking out! Enjoy! SB.

    FULL SHOW (57:26 min.)

    01. Intro fuzz -> Busse woods (6:17)
    02. Two wheel nation (4:32)
    03. ... (8:19)
    04. Heavy load (7:48)
    05. On to ever after (5:56)
    06. Sunshine and sorrow (6:08)
    07. ... (11:33)
    08. Electric machine (6:50)

I'm not really sure about the track titles, if you know better...

Support the band, go to their shows, buy all their merchandise!
Do not convert to lossy files, unless for personal use. No lossy blog/tracker use! Flac rules!
If you sell...the sharks at SF bay always have appetite for sellers!

    ACID KING is...

    LORI S. - guitar, vocals
    JOEY OSBOURNE - drums
    RAFA MARTINEZ - fuzz bass

I don't really consider The Sword to be stoner. To me they're more of a throwback to the early days of metal. On my iPod I lump them in with my "classic metal" which features 80s thrash and power metal, alongside modern-day bands like Grand Magus.

But I guess that may be just my opinion, so go ahead and post about them!

Somewhere on PE - I thought it was this thread but can't find the post - somebody (I associate it w/ you, Yves, but could well be wrong) said something to the effect of 'No Masters of Reality, no Kyuss." I don't know if that meant the Sab album 'Master of Reality' or the band Masters of Reality, but I went with the latter & I dig most of what I'm hearing. There's a couple of MoR playlists at YT - this is one of them:

Some people on this thread said that they are Stoner and have compared they to Sabbath. Same with the reviews on their CDs that I read. Also, people say that the singer sounds like Ozzy. In fact, this thread is where I first heard about them.

As we established early on in this thread, the term "stoner" is fairly broad. I was merely stating my opinion about the band's sound. Their songs are more structured than the jam-driven sound I associate with stoner. When I first heard them I immediately harkened back to the metal I was listening to circa 81-84. But as I said, post away!

I never really heard much Masters of Reality until recently. Only going by the self titled, I can't hear much "stoner" in their music. To me, they sound like a great classic rock band, with some southern influences thrown in. I guess Black Sabbath was an influence but I can't really hear it in their music. But it's still good stuff.

I've got to learn how to post You Tube videos. I'm really loving a band called Black Pyramid; their second album "II" (duh!) is killer. They kind of do for me what The Sword do for you and others here. More doom than stoner, but with some cool lengthy tracks too. Yves, you might dig 'em too!

it must depend on which album(s) you listen to. This song is on their 3rd album (but done live at The Viper Room)

it's easy to do. go to YT and bring up the video you want to post at PE. right click in the address window, left-click 'copy', go to the PE thread you want to post it in. right-click on the 2nd icon from the right (top of window you''re posting in - when the pointer hits it, it reads 'insert video'), and paste the url in there and click 'ok' and 'post'

I've heard a few camples of Black Pyramid since they show up on iTunes in the "people who bought [insert stoner band I'm sampling] also bought..." section. I just haven't gotten around to ordering any. Dead Meadow is another band that I should eventually break down and order.

Listening to Masters of Reality. I don't know if it is strictly stoner but what I have heard is strictly good. Which albums should I get?
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
