    Current Thought on MFSL Disks?

I’m sure I could find a boatload of opinion on the Hoffman forums, but what do people think these days of the MFSL CD releases vs more recent remasters? Do you think they hold up?

Off the top of my head I have:

    Tull - LITP
    Tull - A Passion Play
    Floyd - Meddle
    Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
    Floyd - DSOTM
    Floyd - The Wall
    The Who - Quadrophenia

    I think that’s it.

The only one I have is Quadrophenia, and it's one of the best-sounding albums in my collection. So, yeah, they stand up.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

Don't have those recent remasters but I have the Mobile Fidelity ones. I've never had a problem with them.

I have a bunch of Mobile Fidelitys the only one I have a clear opinion of being sub par was Rush's 2112. The only one the Mobile Fidelity 2112 might have been better than was the 1997 remaster. The original, the Sector, the first deluxe edition and the second deluxe edition all sound better to me.

I'm a fan of the MFSL mastering. All I've heard have been excellent, and worth the extra cash. They are my choice for titles I'm interested in that they did, which isn't that many.

I'd like to know what Jeff Carney thinks about them.
