    Kavus Torabi: Solar Divination EP

    Hey,
I've just finished a three song EP called Solar Divination.
It's written, performed and produced by me.
Not having drums or horns etc, the 'timbre' is a little different to Knifeworld but if you like my stuff I think you'll enjoy it.
I couldn't be happier with how it has turned out, currently it's my favourite thing I've done.

It'll be available on CD, limited edition vinyl and digital.
The official release date will be the end of this month, although the CD's will be sooner and the vinyl a little later!

If you'd like to pre-order it you can go here http://www.thegenepool.co.uk/artists/KAVUS+TORABI.htm

Alternatively, I believe Steve F at Wayside will be selling it too.

Should you be in the UK in April and would like to see me perform, I will be playing solo shows accompanied by guitar and harmonium at the following:

8th: Margate, Tom Thumb Theatre (With Arch Garrison and Bovril)
14th: Birmingham, Dark Horse Mosley (With Paul Morricone
21st: Mold, Daniel Owen Community Centre (Record Store Day event. Free entry. Kavus on at 11:45am)
    22nd: Glastonbury, King Arthur
    25th: Bristol, Mothers Ruin
26th: Sheffield, West Street Live (Kavus on first)
27th: York, Fulford Arms (Tim Smith Benefit, with Redbus Noface, Paul Morricone & Stephen Evens)
29th: London, Servant Jazz Quarters (With VÄLVĒ (Chloe Herington from Knifeworld))

Will hold off for this, so I can support two excellent gentlemen in one go.

Oh man this is good! Three tunes, but each one encompasses its own sonic universe, Kavus-style. I guess there is a more intimate vibe compared to Knifeworld, which of course makes sense, but its just a characteristic I noticed. Kavus - you sure do love the lydian mode, don't you?! I remember you telling me that in that sweaty beer loft in London, and its here in full force! Great production too - love the synths used, gives each tune such atmosphere. The only "issue" is that its over before you want it to be. Does "Slow Movements" end by hitting a brick wall?

Anyway, congrats to you Sir Kavus - any fan of Knifeworld will really dig these tunes (and quite different but still has the KT stamp) and I think a bunch people more who aren't familiar with his (your) work would also find something to latch onto here. Fantastic

PS - I forgot to add - I feel that Kavus's vocals are getting better each time out, I sense more confidence in the delivery. Congrats on the vocals alone.

Thanks Kavus. I'm listening to it now. It reminds of some of the more psychedelic Knifeworld stuff. I'll see if it shows up state-side or just eventually buy it from bandcamp.

Absolutely wonderful release. Anyone who likes Kavus' other bands I'm sure will like this a lot. Will be great to catch live too.

I love that track "slow movements'. It really manages to hold the tension well for the full 9 minutes.

and yes; vocals sound better then ever!
