I'm always amazed by the quality stuff I have no idea about even when they're smack bang in my taste sweet spot.

"Ergo is a trio made up of Carl Maguire on Rhodes electric piano and analog synth, Shawn Baltazor on drums and lead by Brett Sroka on trombone and laptop. Their music is one of stark melodic beauty, enveloping electro-acoustic texture and empathic imagination."

" ... combining the modern sound of electronica and beyond with jazz and ambient music. The basic building blocks of their sound are beats and electronics, trombone, the Fender Rhodes and drums. The music here generally develops slowly but it's also very accessible while remaining something that holds active interest."

And very nice for a rainy morning here in Costa Rica!
    Cheers!

Just grabbed this one myself. Never heard Ergo before, but the tracks I sampled on BC sounded nice so I took the plunge.

Me too! Somehow I didn't have this...a great addition for the binge . I still love this early era of SM the best...up until around Fourth....basically everything and anything with Wyatt.

Heck yes. All of the Wyatt-era Soft Machine is killer.

This is the one, I love it!
I already have it, somewhere ... go for it if you don't my Friends! ... a winner IMO!

"This collection of unreleased tapes find a band that is much looser, far more vibrant - more out there - than their albums ever were."

"Comprising demo & rehearsal recordings, this AMAZING archival release features nearly 70 minutes of ALL unreleased recordings by 3 different editions of the band from 1973-75, with 25 minutes of previously unheard compositions by Alan, including a re-working of the tune written for the double quartet of Gilgamesh & Hatfield & The North [!], as well as much more fiery versions of many of the pieces from their 1st album!"
    Pura Vida!.

^ Yeah! I already have this one on CD, but it's essential for any fans of Gilgamesh and/or Canterbury IMO.

"Forever Einstein's third album is a kind of strange mixture between strong avant garde compositions and really funny passages flirting with other rock styles and even jazz, with a remarkable emphasis on the guitar work of Mr. Charles Vrtacek.

Refreshing, techically well done and with lots of humor in the music and the titles of every song."

I only have "Racket Science" and I like it, so, here we go ... .
