Ravens still haven't allowed a touchdown in the second half through five games.

Just about the most meaningless stat i've heard in a while.

But I guess in your mind, the NFL should hand them the Lombardi trophy now due to their vaunted second half defense thru the first five games of the season (which in today's NFL, is merely an extended pre-season)

As a Lions fan I would have to agree with you. The ball did appear to hit the Lions guy and the GB. We got a gift there.

Raiders are aligning themselves to have the first overall pick. They didn't even show up yesterday. Pathetic... (or by design??)

Drew Brees has had an amazing career which has defied all expectations. His durability is incredible esp given his size. I would certainly put him in the top 10 QBs of all time, maybe in the convo for one of the top 5-6.

I think the media should be more careful with the proclamations of "the greatest passer of all time" hype (ESPN) however because he has accumulated enough games to break the all time yards passing record. It's a great record along with passing TDs and passing completions. Yardage passing as everyone knows is inflated by many games where the losing QB passes for a lot of yardage in playing catchup and/or in garbage time. Not to mention taking into account the passing friendly era he has benefited from. So just because a QB passes for the most yards by itself does not make you the "greatest passer of all time".

At one point, Fran Tarkenton held every single important career passing record at the time he retired after breaking all of Unitas' records. I think Tark was a great QB, but most people would not list him as one of the top 5 ever or call him the greatest passer of all time. He may not even make many people's top 10 lists. Ironically, Brees and Tark were very similar in physical stature, and expectations coming out of college.

It's only Week 5, and the Browns have already experienced every possible outcome:

It's what I've been bellyaching about for years. Tanny is not a good QB. Gase was all in on Tanny from his (Gase's) start with the Dolphins. They've committed to Tanny and we have to mediocre backup QBs. You know, we can lose every remaining game on the schedule, and could win some that we shouldn't win.

And that is the state of the entire league this year

Looks like it is the year for quarterbacks to make NFL history. Joe Flacco is in the history book as well.

The Baltimore Ravens are more than just the only perfect team in the red zone this season.
The Ravens are also NFL record-setters when it comes to reaching the end zone inside the 20-yard line. Baltimore became the first team in league history to score touchdowns on its first 13 red zone trips.

They are #8. But since that is a fact, you of course will ignore it.

The rest of this is meaningless blather which, like last year's claim that the playoffs were "going thru Baltimore", are worth not an additional iota of my time.

I knew it wouldn't take long before a bottom feeder came along and tried to denigrate me again. This is the same thing DC Progger complained about in the baseball thread.

After what the NFL did to Jimmy Smith this should be at least a four game suspension.
