Congratulations sir. I did NOT see this coming. Oh, and a second congrats to you, as you are kicking our collective arses in the PE Pickem league.

I'm still smarting from that loss last week. When you play to not lose, you're HC is coaching scared. That's a recipe for mediocrity. If we somehow finish 9-7 I'll give Gase the benefit of the doubt. Anything less deserves being fired.

Dolphins are hanging on for dear life against the lowly Bills. If we lay an egg then just tank the f***ing season and be done with it. The Dolphins make.....me.....sick!

The smartest play we made was taking a knee to preserve the lead..... They still make me sick.

Wow, that Bears play to tie the Giants to go to OT was money. I kept barking "run an option", but I didn't envision this one lol.

Thats no way to treat a SB winning coach, dumping him in middle of season. Sure hope McCarthy keeps an eye on any dogs he has and protects them from those Packers fans....

Good win for the Seahawks, and good that the Vikings & Packers & Panthers lost. Apparently 43-16 was a Scorigami.

Classless timing, and at this point wtf would the difference be in letting him finish the season?

I'm not surprised at all, and I do think it's time, but 4 games from now would have shown a pinch of respect for someone who hasn't exactly been a shitty coach over the last 11 years.

I know you were goofing, Kevin, but in reality, GB fans are just about the least likely to do stupid shit. (See large urban areas)

I'm torn. I love the GB Packers. I can see your and Docprogger's point (though I don't know what Doc's talking about with the second part of his comment). McCarthy was a "highly successful NFL coach", as he once infamously declared. Running the table to finish 10-6 and then making it to the NFC championship that year saved his job, rightly so, but I really thought they should have moved on from him after he proved yet again last year he can't win without Aa-Rod. This year can't win with him. It just seemed like his heart wasn't in it anymore. That's why I'm not terribly disappointed. I thought they should have fired him a few games ago, actually. If you know it's over, why wait until the end of the season? His place as a great part of Packers history is secured, but his time has (for quite some time) passed.

My dog comment refers to the old Dan Devine story, where his dog was allegedly shot by a disgruntled Packer fan back in the early 70s. It may or may not be completely true, but as a Vikings fan, it's one of my favorites (and they did do some nasty stuff to ol Dan). That allowed him to move on to my alma mater where he won the National Champ in his 3rd year and was coach for 3 of my 4 years, only to have our alums run him off after a 9-1-1 season.
