Who said a rookie drafted in 2018 had to play right away?

On a hypothetical team of no Beckham, no Barkley and the existing O-Line, you've got a QB already under contract who can deal with the mess until O-Line fortifications are made in the offseason. The fact that there isn't a good O-Line in place is no excuse at all for not drafting a QB last year. Lines can always be fixed, to an extent. QB play can't, because good QBs are in short supply.

So which of the QBs would you have taken out of curiosity? I think the Giants could have traded their pick down if it was Rosen or Jackson.

I think they should have taken Darnold. Not only is he going to be a big star, but he would gain the most and chafe the least of the 4 at sitting for a year.

But if for some reason they really didn't like any of the QBs, then they should have drafted Chubb or traded down. I said that at the time.

The fact that the Giants jettisoned project QB Davis Webb only underscores the difficulty of their situation. Barkley is a physical freak and looks like he may be great, but that was a deep draft for RBs. We drafted a guy in the 2nd round, and 2 weeks ago he had 3 carries for 105 yards with 2 TDs. Is he going to do that every week? No, but he looks like an excellent prospect, and we took him at 33, not 2.

After watching 20 years of futility, Browns fans know that you must have a franchise QB. We've been over this before, but I still think the Giants made a big mistake.

Hurt to watch (not surprisingly Blue is my #2 team after the Cheese).
that's a surprise to me - Giants knocked us out of the playoffs at Lambeau twice. once during that crazy 15-1 season where the Packers looked to be an all-time great offense. I still hold a grudge over that.

    Here's an interesting tidbit....

Through the first five games this year, the Browns have achieved every possible outcome in an NFL game.
    They won
    They lost
    They tied
    They lost in overtime
    They won in overtime

Now if this happens it will complete the cycle.

I could see how you might have missed it as a few posts after that the typical Ravens posts then dominated the thread.

While I rooted heavily for the Pack in both those games you mention, I was born & raised in NYC and went to half a dozen Giants games with my Giants fan dad as a kid, and rooted for them until I was living in WI for 5 years. Then I was assimilated by the Wisconsin Borg (see Capt. Picard), a/k/a my wife's family, and became a Pack, Brewers & Bucks fan instead of a Giants, Mets & Knicks fan, so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise. The Mets are still my #2 MLB team, but the Knicks have been so bad both on & off the court that I don't have a #2 NBA team anymore.

Tannihill is "questionable" to start today. As much as I whine about him he's all we have. All I want from this team is to be competitive. That 3-0 start means nothing.

Another week, another screwing by the refs. I'm not bitch about the refs guy, but this one was so blatant that they showed replays complete with telestrator drawings.

The NFL has an officiating crisis on it's hands.

And Brocky Boy throws a pick. All it takes is one mistake for this team. They just blew their lead......
