Jewel's career is in the tank? Might explain that commercial back in November for her Christmas-themed concert with a bunch of guests. Maybe she should team up with Yanni.

Adele's the only one of these I've never heard.

^ I think I had her confused with the woman from a UK talent show who was a self-taught opera singer.

Adele, while certainly no sex symbol, IS in fact a sex symbol compared to Susan Boyle of whom you speak, Jed.

Not a big Jewel fan, but saw folk singer Steve Poltz a month ago. He co-wrote her biggest songs with her and gave he a start.

How can anyone's career not be in the tank at this point?... Top songs are returning a massive $1.5k a month worth of listening revenue from the biggest and busiest websites. Someone who is used to spending that on their weekly dry cleaning will find that kind of distribution of royalties a bit, um "unprofitable".

Now that her career (well everyone's career) is kind of in the tank, she has started making appearances on the show, and has flirted with leaving her career to join the show. It seems like the viewers are not terribly interested in her, because they have her on screen, and then she kind of goes away. My wife has often commented that she's just trying to cash in on her families fame, now that her own fame is kind of waning. If my wife see that, it must be fairly obvious, because she tends to see the best in people. She is not that thrilled with Jewel trying to impose her music career on the show, that my wife really loves. They always have her sing, or comment on her life in Nashville...

Her dad is a good music guy, but he's also a genuine bad ass frontiersman. The whole family, as I said is very music oriented. I wold like to see the Jewel show. I have never been into her music.

Her first CD I believe was produced by Ben Keith (Neil Young's pedal steel legend) and members of the Stray Gators that were on the Harvest album. She has one of the top voices out there. She has gone through different styles, but when she tells a story, she is amazing (listen to Adrian).
