    Munju

    https://www.munjumusic.com/ (new website)

From the website: "One could say that Munju was one of the most outstanding German Bands ever!

Munju can be described as a post "CAN" and "KRAFTWERK" generation band and played originals only.

The core of the band -- Dieter Kaudel/guitars, oud and vibraphone, Wolfgang Salomon/bass and keyboards und Thomas Römer/drums and trumpet -- played and toured together for 10 years and led Munju through their journey of different musical inspirations and styles. ! "

The bassplayer also played with Von Zamla, and Michel Berckmans from Univers Zero plays on their last album.

Excellent band. "Moon You" is for me their best offering. Interesting to see how they diversified in 1980 with the more up to date sounding "Brot + Spiele". It was a radical hybrid of psyched-up krautrock, new wave and ethno jazz.

    How many did they have?

I finally got around to playing one of the two I've had for like 10 years; the s/t album. Real good stuff
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Its a mixed bag, they never got a strong musical profile.

I prefer the last one "Le Perfectionniste " With Berckmans from Univers zero, but didn't find it on YT.

It's a good album i.m.o. A decent attempt to embrace the energy of the new wave style while retaining their krautrock roots. They refined this approach further, by incorporating some RIO influences, with Le perfectionniste.

I just relistened: A little uneven, but lots of good tracks on 'Brot und Spiele !'
