Zoot Allures
Little House...
Outrage at Valdez
200 Motels and You Are What You Is both have suites of songs that would probably make a list (the "She Painted Up Her Face" suite from Motels and the "Society Pages" suite from YAWYI), but I guess that might be cheating.
"Yo Mama"
"The Ocean Is the Ultimate Solution"
"My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama" (any version--they're all good!)
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

The Little House I Used to Live In

Waka/Jawaka
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
+1 to Blessed Relief
No love for King Kong, which would top my list?
Lots of love for The Little House I Used To Live In, which to my ears is not the most obvious choice. Other long Zappa compositions seem more accomplished and the lo-fi aesthetic and production give this one a "dirty", rough edge.
Of course it is greatness piled on greatness, from start to finish. The violin outbreak, accompanied by drums, has me hitting the floor like a fish out of water.
1. Inca Roads
2. Holiday in Berlin
3. It Might Just be a One Shot Deal
Others that could have easily gone in that list: Waka/Jawaka, Big Swifty, Blessed Relief (such a beautiful piece), Sofa, Peaches, Cheepnis, Don't You Ever Wash That Thing, Packard Goose, Andy, RDNZL.
Get Whitey
Holiday In Berlin (Full Blown)
Dwarf Nebula Processional March
On this day and date they are:
1. Muffin Man
2. Inca Roads
3. Eat That Question
I love how many of the lists have totally different songs. Zappa certainly brought the kitchen sink.
At 1.06 AM at the little corner of the world I reside, this is my favorite. And rightly so. What could ever top this?
This is really tough, and I don't even know them all!
Today it would probably be:
RDNZL (the Studio Tan version)
Inca Roads
You Didn't Try To Call Me (from You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore, Vol. 1)
“Is there anything good inside of you? If there is I really want to... *gasp* know!”
So delighted to see so much love for “Andy.” While the mid-70s lineup was perhaps the classic Mothers lineup, they weren’t terribly well-served by their studio output. That said, they went out on a high with One Size Fits All, for sure a five-star release, and “Andy” probably being the climax of that album.

Today's top 3 are:

Inca Roads

It's hard enough to pick my three favorite Zappa albums, but three songs? OK.
The Ocean Is the Ultimate Solution
Inca Roads
City of Tiny Lights
