That was before Edwards’ time in the group. Classic tune though!

Edwards was by far my favorite lead vocalist from the Tempts. His singing on those classic funky songs like “Cloud Nine", "I Can't Get Next to You", "Ball of Confusion", and “Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" is so powerful and legendary. In the last 20+ years he was leading “The Temptations Review” (a name settled on after some legal wrangling with the official group) on tours with the son of one of the original Tempts.

Great singer but even more, this was superb music. The Temps, The Four tops, Supremes and Marvin Gaye. The Motown and Grape sound. And Listening to todays music, I ask myself, what happened? How could this wonderful music devolve the way it has. I wasn't around when it was fresh and new but I must say this music has left a hugh impression on me. RIP Mr. Edwards. Something lost, something missed.
The older I get, the better I was.
