Is that what got you banned? I thought it was because you continued to derail threads with political jargon (which is a no-no here on PE), and then an admin stepped in to say that enough was enough.

I'm pretty sure it was the one comment that pushed certain people over the edge. I had done no more than some others (actually less than a few who still have yet to ever see retribution), but it seemed that was what did it. The thread was already derailed, BTW. I merely jumped in once I saw it was doomed. I'm not saying I was singled out. I got what I deserved. But, I felt it was worth the small price.

I think it was deleted by the time I saw the thread so I didn't know what the cause was
This is pretty rare so I'll post it.
Brewers reliever Josh Hader comes in @ Citi @ the beginning of the Mets 8th and strikes out all 6 batters he faces for the 2 inning save w/only 23 pitches total.

Wow. That's impressive.

Just heard a rumor that Jeter is thinking of moving the Marlins to the Virgin Islands.....
Epic meltdown by the Braves bullpen yesterday blowing an 8-run lead in the eighth to the Cubs in completely awful conditions. Why the game wasn't called on account of weather is a mystery, but it sure was fun to watch!

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
Without looking at the calendar, I would guess it's because the Braves aren't scheduled to be back in Chicago again this year.
Another result of the idiocy of the unbalanced schedule. That's the same schedule that had the Yankees playing in Detroit in early April and no other time during the season.

That is the case. They go to Atl for three next month and that's it. Today's weather looks the same or perhaps worse; I wonder how gung-ho MLB will be to get the game in. Sure seems like a dangerous proposition, and if I were the manager I'd be sorely tempted to play the B-team to avoid any catastrophic injuries.

Overnight ice forced the postponement of the Tigers and Yankees 1:00 makeup game of yesterday's postponement. That is the fifth for the Tigers this year. The nightcap game is still on ... for now.

Yep.
I usually avoid daily posts on my team (no one really cares how my team is doing day-to-day), but that's what the Braves announcing crew talked about through the 8th inning meltdown. Their discussion turned to re-instituting a balanced schedule, which really is the only thing that makes sense in the two-team wild card era.
After the game, Moylan, one of the Braves relievers responsible for the meltdown, said that throwing the ball was like throwing a wet cue ball. Not to blame the loss on that (the Cubs pitchers must've had similar problems), but it sure does make one wonder why MLB can't schedule spring games south of the Mason-Dixon exclusively.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
I happened to catch the last few innings and saw the meltdown. I think the Cubs scored 9 runs in that inning on just 3 hits. The Braves looked like t-ballers out there throwing the ball away all over the field, wild pitches, walking in runners with the bases loaded. It was hilarious. The weather was horrendous, but man, that was ugly.

The Twins and White Sox ending up postponing all three weekend games due to a foot of snow dumped on Minneapolis. Granted, this April is a little extreme but we always have this problem every season. I am sure a scheduling algorithm could fix this so all teams in the upper East Coast, the Rust Belt, and Upper Midwest played elsewhere until at least tax day.

It's a conspiracy.

Legendary pitcher Bartolo Colon came within 6 outs of becoming the oldest to throw a perfect game. Leadoff walk in the 8th, then a double broke up the no-no and a sac fly ended the shutout. Texas won over the Astros in extras.

Weather and baseball news!! The last 2 Blue Jays / Indians games cancelled due to the weather. Both games rescheduled to double header in May. Jays next game against the Royals...thank goodness we have a covered stadium, the weather is not a factor...wrong!! a 300# chunk of ice fell off the CN tower next door and went through the roof and landed on the field!! guess what? the game is cancelled and will be played tomorrow as a double header. I'm curious if 3 games in a row have been cancelled before, including an indoor stadium?

Last night, Aaron Judge became the quickest to reach 60 home runs in MLB history. He has begun the season on a tear. So sign of the sophomore jinx.

If the Brewers don't bite the bullet and pick up at least one more reliable starter (they only have one now-Chase Anderson), even if it means giving up someone like Santana or equiv. instead of just prospects, they will be assimilated into the same "wait 'til next year" mantra that I suffered through as a child rooting for "Dem Bums from Brooklyn".
