Well done Mr H for keeping the Genesis flame alive.

Need to check if this is just Steve with Orchestra or the whole band?

You lucky bastard! Here's hoping he continues the tour in the US, but I'd say thats pretty doubtful.

Could be financially viable if he uses 'local' orchestra's like YES did?

I wasn't previously aware that an orchestral show (the "precursor" to this tour) took place in the US last year (in Buffalo on 3rd March).
Has anyone any feedback about this show?

I'm still scratching my head over why Hackett's upcoming spring tour in the US is so limited this year, just a few dates on the east and west coasts, nothing at all even in Chicago or anywhere in the midwest. I know he's toured a lot the last few years, but strange he would blow off all of us in "flyover country".

Ok...someone's gotta say it....is this starting to be a little overkill?

I don't begrudge the guy making a living but what's next "A Trick of the Tail" with Hip Hop guest artists?

"Musical Box" with the Frank Yankovic Polka Band?

I think most of us have expressed that. But better too much than not enough. Never leave them wanting more!

I saw the show in Buffalo and it was okay. The orchestra added some weight and richness to some of the songs (The Steppes was very good) but overall it didn't add a huge amount to it for me.

He could do a "And Then There Were Three" tour and just send his band out on the road without him.

So just to clarify, was his regular full band also with him (Nad etc)?

Yes. The band played on all the songs - the orchestra on about half or so.

I thought the Youtube clips looked promising - thanks for the link!

Got tickets ordered for the Manchester show - £41.50 each - which is a bit cheaper than I was expecting for an orchestral show.

So yeah - looking forward to this. Wonder what the chances are for a Tony Banks guest appearance!!!

Buy a lottery ticket, you'll have better odds.

Not having visited this board for over a week nearly caused me to miss this; only when I scrolled down to an Amazon UK review of Wuthering Nights last night did I spot a comment about the orchestral tour.

Tickets for Birmingham Symphony Hall went on sale Friday 26th; when I booked last night - 28th - there were only top balcony seats left other than restricted view.

Considering the number of shows he's put on there in the last few years I don't think the potential Birmingham audience think it's overkill.
