Solely based on my listening habits in 2017. These probably aren't "the best" records of the year, merely my favorites!!!

I am disappointed though. I thought initially that an "outsider" wrote it. And that good prog exists beyond the confones of PE

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

A hipster leaning Top 100 of 2017 list! From The Quietus
But wait, you might say, there are still 3 weeks to go.
Well as an owner of 2% of the list ( Mogwai and Aquaserge which I do like , thank you very much ). It might not be worth the wait.
So lets get this thing Out There!
As lists go, the format is OK. Just a long list 100-1 with explanatory verbage, and at the bottom of the page 1-100, just titles.

The King Gizzard review was funny, but DMT is not active orally. Unless one takes it with certain MAOI plants or substances.

Look, Scot man! Next year your whole list will consist solely of scumbag-weirdo fringe-freak prog shit, alright? Or else...!!

Seriously, there are always new names and things to discover - no matter your outset. And it rarely implies a recession so dramatic that it eradicates your "previous" preferences, although as you advance you may feel some new perspectives coming on. Me, I'm still a Yes fan (well, of the older stuff anyway) - but on other terms and grounds than I was back in 1987. It's what humanity renders of you.
