My condolences to Simon and to all who have had losses to the fire.

That's so horrible. I lived in Ventura in the third grade and it has a lot of memories for me. Ojai as well. My thoughts and sympathies go out to him and anyone else affected by the fire.

Holy Crap. I always feared earthquakes out west. These fires are unbelievable. So sorry anyone has to endure that, even more so one of the good guys. At least he's safe and hopefully his family too. Here's wishing them all good health and the strength to rebuild.

Terrible news. The thought of losing everything and having to start over is a heavy, heavy thing; the loss of precious mementos plus the tools with which he makes a living. Ugh...poor Simon.

That's terrible. I was looking forward to seeing him in Oakland on the 18th. I hope he and his family are OK and that he can resume touring in 2018.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Read this on the Contact web site:

Simon regrets to inform everyone that his current U.S. tour dates have been cancelled. Simon's home was destroyed by fires that have been raging in SoCal. He was NOT home and was not injured. Thanks to everyone for their concerns. New dates will be posted when available.

He should be a millionaire, and if he didn't have insurance shame on him.

The tour is cancelled and may be rescheduled. He's gone to LA to deal with the situation. I ordered his new album, Protocol IV to help out a bit, plus I certainly need it! I assume fire insurance will cover his losses. Anyway, very sad. My thoughts are with all the folks affected by the fires. I too had tickets for December 18 at Yoshi's.

Well, I was reacting more or less ironic on FrippWire's "poor Simon".
Still, although he might not be hurt financially too much, this is an emotional shock for sure.

He could never replace all the sentimental things lost in the fire.

I'll be seriously missing the opportunity to see the band tomorrow at Reggie's in Chicago, but a tragedy like this has got to be heartbreaking for Simon. I have to believe a whole lot of outstanding musical equipment was lost, but fortunately it sounds like everyone involved is safe.
