I see what you mean, but:

    1) What about Steven Wilson and Time Flies?
    2) Who's Al Weber

Ok, since not surprisingly I'd never heard of Spoon (have you guys?) I looked them up on Wiki, and saw their drummer is named Jim Eno. Do you think Eno is his real last name? (I looked up Brian Eno, and at his christening he was named Brian Peter George, and according to Wiki he now goes by the name of Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno. So did Jim Eno change his last name to a name that Brian Eno made up for himself?

Wiki also says "He was ranked 31st in Stylus magazine's list of fifty greatest rock drummers." About 15 places ahead of Billy Cobham. Here's the list, it's a little crazy, but maybe not off the map:

    50. Rat Scabies
    49. Damon Che
    48. Janet Weiss
    47. Brian Chase
    46. Billy Cobham
    45. Lol Tolhurst / Boris Williams
    44. Grant Hart
    43. Hal Blaine
    42. Gary Young
    41. Ziggy Modeliste
    40. Mik Glaisher
    39. Tony Allen
    38. Igor Cavalera
    37. Jeremiah Green
    36. John Densmore
    35. Hugo Burnham
    34. Zach Hill
    33. Steve Shelley
    32. Reni
    31. Jim Eno
    30. Clyde Stubblefield
    29. Brendan Canty
    28. Al Jackson, Jr.
    27. Yoshimi P-We
    26. Ringo Starr
    25. Levon Helm
    24. Jimmy Chamberlin
    23. Bill Bruford
    22. Neil Peart
    21. Larry Mullen, Jr.
    20. Bill Berry
    19. Joe Easley
    18. Mitch Mitchell
    17. Bill Ward
    16. Ginger Baker
    15. Klaus Dinger
    14. Glen Kotche
    13. Tony Thompson
    12. Chris Frantz
    11. Dave Lombardo
    10. Bernard Purdie
    09. Moe Tucker
    08. Stewart Copeland
    07. Topper Headon
    06. Dave Grohl
    05. Stephen Morris
    04. Charlie Watts
    03. Jaki Leibezeit
    02. Keith Moon
    01. John Bonham

But has anyone heard of Jim Eno? For some reason Wiki's page on him give a lot of production credits and such, but no album credits.

Ringo is better than Billy Cobham according to that list, BTW. Oh, lists - you always crack me up!

^^ That list is beyond silly.

    +1

I'm guessing the same contributors would put Mr. Page in the top five.

Larry Mullen Jr. could teach Neil Peart and Bruford a thing or two, apparently!

Rufus will love it though- a 'drummers poll' with no Phil Collins. Yet it does include Mo Tucker. Huh?

FWIW; any drummer-list which has Glenn Kotche, Damon Che and Zach Hill on it is OK by me. Of course, this one had Maureen Tucker as well. SHe's apparently better than both Hill and Che.

Not ONE Zappa drummer on that list? I hope they were shooting crystal meth into their pupils when they made that list (for their own sake). <--The last word is sake (the Japanese rice wine), used as a metaphor.

I do like seeing Jaki on there though

Signed hardcover? My copy really stinks. The pages are very loose.

Brian Peter George was his given name, but Eno is his real last name. (Brian's, that is, I don't know about Jim.) The "St John le Baptiste de la Salle" part came from a Catholic school Eno attended where the pupils adopted that as part of their name.
