any of you insiders know if they will be continuing the one download per gig trend with the current tour?

Also going through Tony's tour diary two things strike me...
1) it's interesting to see in at least one show they are breaking up the lizard suite. 2) doubly interesting that they are listing The Errors and Radical 3 as separate entities. I thought The Errors was formerly called Radical 3?

(1) Yes, they are, though in my opinion the full version (Bolero + Dawn song + Last skirmish + Prince Rupert's lament) is the best, especially when preceded by Cirkus.
(2) I don't think so. Radical III seems to be introduced this year (see https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/k...cal+Action+III ). It's completely different piece, instrumental, usually used as the first part of (unofficial) suite Radical III / Meltown / Radical II / Level Five (aka LTIA5), played continuously. The sequence works perfectly, it's great!
Closer check: you're right, in 2017 Tony used the title Radical 3 for The Errors - even on Chicago show (though later release listed it under the new name).
The errors: was known as radical 3 until they released Chicago, at which time it was renamed the errors.
Radical 3: my understanding is that the piece they are calling radical 3 is the evolution of radical 1, which had undergone a bunch of changes and was lengthened on the fall 2017 tour. Have not heard any bootlegs, but that’s my understanding. They’ve prolly changed the name just given how much the song has evolved.
Lizard suite: on the set lists nightly, they’ve always listed our the individual movements and now this year with bolero added to it, looks like sometimes they do some parts of it and then other parts of it later in the show, just kind of mixing it up. Prolly keeps it fun and fresh for them.....even when they did the nightly downloads last year, it would be one of the movements they’d release, never the whole thing. No matter - live in Chicago has the dawn song / last skirmish / prince Rupert version all in one right awesome swinging piece....so can get it all in one place! I do think it is cool though how they’re starting to split it up in shows, keeps it fun and fresh for them I imagine.
Good to know I'm not insane.
And thanks for your response. I agree with you that Cirkus preceding the lizard suite is excellent. Makes it feel like it's part of the piece. Good to see Bolero make an appearance too, hopefully this means, one day they will play the whole of Lizard straight through!

Ahh interesting. Well no confusion can be had by calling Raidcal I Radical III when another piece was already called Radical III. I hope the newfangled Radical I/III is released as a download from a show...everyone says it's awesome and quite a step up from the original Radical I.
As for lizard, yes I have noticed that. But to me the pieces don't work as well separated segments. At least it seems odd just to do Dawn Song and half a show later to Rupert's Lament. But you are probably right RE: keeping things fresh for them.
And I have and have been enjoying Chicago 17 for many moons now.

Has anyone made themselves a nicely sequenced playlist of the new tracks from the 2014-8 band that they'd care to list?
^Yep!
1. "Walk On/Monk Morph Music" (Orpheum)
2. "Venturing Unto Joy" (2014 tour box)
3. "Devil Dogs" (Radical Action)
4. "Radical I" -> "Meltdown" -> "Radical II" (Radical Action)
5. "Hell Hounds" (Toronto)
6. "Separation" (2014 tour box)
7. "Light of Day" (Radical)
8. "Suitable Grounds" (Aylesbury)
9. "Interlude" (Chicago)
10. "The Errors" (Chicago)
11. "SF Soundcheck" (2015 tour box)
12. "Banshee Legs" (Orpheum)
13. "Scarcity of Miracles" (Oslo)
14. "Heroes" (Port Chester) [Bonus track!]
It probably needs an update to include some of the Vienna tracks and some of the tracks from the newer tour boxes (I think I made it before I had the '17 box, and I still don't have '16 or '18), but it works pretty well as an album (56 minutes).

2018 tour box is cool - awesome to hear a demo version of discipline and the errors by Jakko and Gavin, cool to see how they workshop this stuff.
Oh and neurotica and interlude from the forthcoming live in Mexico.....those are cool too! Here’s to hoping they do video footage of the Mexico stuff....we know they record video nightly and there’s tons of songs added since radical action that haven’t been released with video footage yet....one can hope!
Fripp: "Rising 07.42 from a busy NightWorld. One part of the exciting night was a recording session with Tony Visconti. David Bowie’s presence was felt, although David did not appear in the studio. Both Captain Eno and Bowie are returning characters to NightWorld adventures, not frequently but regularly. And it always feels good to see them."

Just returned from the 2nd Berlin show. It took four gigs on this tour that I saw to finally hear the "Lizard" suite in its "entirety", i.e. the current arrangement, which begins with a short quote from the "Prince Rupert Awakes" intro, continues with a note-perfect "Bolero", and continues with the "Dawn Song" and "Last Skirmish" sections, ending with the "Prince Rupert's Lament" guitar solo. None of the three other shows had the entire thing, either just "Bolero" or "Dawn Song / Last Skirmish". For me it was the clear highlight of the entire experience - and did I mention that this was preceded by "Cirkus" ? 25 minutes of pure "Lizard" bliss... Of the other 'new' songs, "Moonchild" and "Cadence And Cascade" were OK but not completely satisfying, "Larks IV" works great with the current line-up but I'm frustrated they're not playing "Fracture" anymore. The "Radical Action / Level Five" medley is now a fixture of the set, played at all gigs, and again it's a good showcase for the current band, despite a certain KC-by-the-numbers feel. Of the numbers not played at the shows I've seen (2xPrague and 2xBerlin), neither "Fallen Angel" nor "Breathless" were played. Surely they'll be played tomorrow at the last Berlin show, but I won't be there so...
