I think he was making a composite character of a type of internet troll (the type who do not concede that their opinions are anything less than an objective truth), not simply blasting the people here. Reading his comments, I don't even think he was slamming this board as a whole, but just punning off the name. All this really means that we are well known enough for a satirical reference.

Seriously, most folks here don't engage in such chicanery, so most folks here need only take offense if they they are looking for something to take offense at. For the folks here who do engage in such chicanery, you got burned by the prog-master himself. Words matter, put on your big-boy pants and own up to it.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.

DLs from the 2018 Uncertain Times tour continue:

    https://www.dgmlive.com/news/New%20t...%20last%20tour

    https://www.dgmlive.com/news/Two%20t...0from%20Prague

That's 19 tracks (if I've gotten everything) from the most recent tour, including the first time this band's version of "Moonchild" has been available. The re-worked versions of "Blues" and "Neurotica" (both with significant piano contributions by Stacey) are must haves.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

The recent Level Five might be the most powerful I've heard this Krim yet.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.

Anyone who has seen 2018 shows, I would be grateful for information on typical running times. Apologies if it's already been discussed; I just skimmed all the pages and didn't see anything.

Anyway, the shows look quite long based on the setlists I have seen. I am seeing them in London in November and trying to figure out the logistics for getting back home.

    TIA

  6. #256
If you count the break the evening (which always begins exactly on time) is between 3-3.5 hours long.

  7. #257
Wow - thanks. Looks like I will be getting home late!

seen them last night in paris

    set list

    Set 1:
    Hell Hounds of Krim
    Neurotica
Suitable Grounds for the Blues (with Jeremy Stacy piano intro)
    Indiscipline
    Cirkus
    Lizard
    (Bolero -> Prince Rupert's Lament)
    Epitaph
Radical Action (To Unseat the Hold of Monkey Mind)
    Radical Action III
    Meltdown
    Radical Action II
    Level Five

    Set 2:
    Devil Dogs of Tessellation Row
    Islands
    Discipline
    One More Red Nightmare
Moonchild(with Tony, Robert, and Jeremy cadenzas)
The Court of the Crimson King(including coda)
    Easy Money
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part Two
    Starless

    Encore:
    21st Century Schizoid Man

started at 20:30 and ended at 23:30 with a twenty minutes pause beetween the two sets.
to me, imho, some of their track work very well witlh three drummers. more than expected in fact . I think they have done some adjustments in the good way but didnt' work well for some others song ( personally , to me , imho ...).
light show was the strict minimal thing that can be done . all the money seems to be put on red led light for starless which was really exellent .
sound was not quite good at first (as many gig ) . finaly I enjoy it but its was a mixed feeling . last time have seen KC was for the power to believe tour and the band was a lot more tight and accurate in sound ( in the same room Olympia ) .
it was their first night i expect them to be better the second an third date .

I've seen KC twice in 2015 and twice this 2018, and they have been excellent.
My only wish now is that they return to a small group of 3 or 4 players, with Fripp's guitar returning to the fore.
I have enjoyed the ensemble performances, but I now yearn for the simpler arrangements.

The "Lizard" medley last night was simply out of this world.

The current tour seems to stick to the basic same setlist with very little variation (used to be at least 1/3rd different, especially when playing consecutive nights in the same city, seems to be 1/6th), unlike previous tours. The only unexpected thing last night was the restored coda to "In The Court..." with the duelling harmoniums and the extended instrumental chorus. I'm not expecting much more for the next Paris shows than the usual variations, i.e. "Pictures Of A City", "Larks 1". Doesn't look like we'll get "Fracture", alas...

Finally. I've always found it odd that they never played that. Especially with the current lineup.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I think at his age Fripp is all too happy to be immersed in a large ensemble where he doesn't have to carry so much of the load. But who knows -- he's confounded expectations in the past more than once!
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

I mean he is still carrying a heavy load, this is complicated music! To say Fripp isn’t carrying a heavy load would be highly inaccurate.

What I am curious about - looks like in addition to the court coda being added that there’s now a Robert cadenza after Tony’s but before Jeremy’s? Anything on how that sounded? Always curious about the new wrinkles and changes that keep coming

Each of them plays a short unaccompanied solo. Not a high point in the performance for me, I must admit. I don't see how any of this is interesting in itself, or works as a transition between "Moonchild" and "ItCotCK".

Contrary to what I expected, tonight's show had a LOT of different material from last night, and the concert was really, really long. Probably the first time I've experienced the entire "Red" (bar "Providence") in the same show. And I don't think they'd played "The Letters" / "Sailor's Tale" in a very long time. To compensate for that, we didn't get "Easy Money", "Schizoid", "LTiA2" or "Islands". It seems they always make room for the Big Lizard Medley ("Cirkus" / "Bolero" - rest of "Lizard") and the "Radical Action" / "Level Five" medley, so some of the rest has to go...

^ They skipped "Schizoid Man"? That's pretty surprising.

It's not that uncommon when they play multiple nights in the same city. They used "Starless" as the encore rather than to close the second set.

To nitpick there isn't a Radical Action 3...yet. Basically Part 1 has been rewritten a lot and The Errors is its own song.

We got a particularly savage Larks' pt IV on the third evening. Among the numerous highlights, the Lizard suite and Fallen Angel. The second set on the last evening seemed to end prematurely...

^And indeed, "Easy Money" was on the setlist for the third night. But, since it would have been played near the beginning of the second set, its omission did not result from the photographic incidents during "Lizard" (later in the show). Perhaps a restriction or curfew imposed by the venue ? although this did not occur on the previous evenings (the other shows were about 20' longer).
btw the legendary Olympia sucks - and certainly some of the staff I had unfortunate dealings with on that same night. The Philharmonie would be a better venue for future KC shows, and the acoustics are superb.

Indeed. It's obvious none of the ticket sales goes into refurbishing works. And if you're taller than average, with so little space between rows of seats, a long concert can turn into an ordeal.

I noticed that no downloads were made available from the Beacon in NYC earlier this year.
Does anyone if that was the same licensing fees issue as the Palladium and the Olympia, or have the Beacon recordings been set aside for another live album?

Same issue with the beacon - licensing issues with the venue. Same venue where Singleton wrote that he couldn’t get a mic for the royal package because the union fee to do that would have been insane. Such is life.
