New proggy Christmas tune from The Wizards of Winter

New instrumental from The Wizards of Winter - I am not sure when "My Favorite Things" transitioned into the Christmas world but I have seen it included in many Christmas collections now. This one rocks:

Bah, humbug. This is just a slightly watered-down derivative of the classic.

The Wizards of Winter is to Trans-Siberian Orchestra as The Harlem Wizards is to The Harlem Globetrotters

Haha. I think they would take that as a compliment. Their shows are very similar to early TSO tours, before the dancing girls and spectacle took over and they prefer it that way. Their music is great though.

TSO had dancing girls? LOL. Was it like sexy Mrs. Claus and a sexy elf?

Sadly, they do. They added them a few years back. It's their female singers in their regular stage costume. It's bad choreography - a mix of cheerleader and stripper moves on songs like Savatage's "Prelude to Madness". I love TSO's early Christmas albums and I still see one of their Shows every year, but I also like the Wizards Christmas concerts which aren't the extravaganza that TSO is.

Is it wild, Russian strippers pole dancing to "A Mad Russian's Christmas?"

Wow, nothing says a cozy, Dickensian Christmas like this!

Wow is right. And not a good wow. Are they starting a residency in Branson Missouri soon?

Meh. Totally different songs and both done well. I like 'em both.
