    I don't think any of these are quite "there" yet and consider them "proto-". I'd add HP Lovecraft's "The White Ship" to this list.

    Mo, I'm asking because I've always respected you and your input here - but what sets "The White Ship" apart from the other H.P. material? I mean, I love the song and both their albums (2nd espec, which I absolutely love!), but I can't really tell how this song sits out. I'm asking because you've mentioned it so many times in this respect.
