    Frankensnow!

    Here we go again:

A wintry blast churning across the nation and a cold front barreling up the East Coast will unite and could dump as much as a foot of snow in New York and up to 3 feet in Boston.

I'm making full preparations (AKA buying an extra 1/2 gallon of milk).

MILK, BREAD & EGGS!!! MILK, BREAD & EGGS!!!

Why does everyone get this craving for French Toast whenever a storm is approaching?

I'm foregoing the milk, eggs, and bread and toughing it out with beer.

I'm willing to endure the snow if it means those two storms will finally be united.

They predicted 1-3" overnight in Madison yesterday & we got 6+. Managed to get stuck at the foot of our driveway & took me & neighbor about a half hour to shovel me out.

I spoke with a friend who lives in Manhattan earlier today and she said NYC will get off easy compared to New England.

That's a pretty strange french toast recipe.

For Boston-area folks, Mayor Tommy "Mumbles" Menino passes along the advice of the Natural Weather Service that, if you're at a location tomorrow at Noon, don't move. Veteran weatherman Biff Buffington predicts 63 feet of snow.

New England will get it this time all to their own - Philly Burbs just a few inches. Hopeing it doesn't affect the Security concert Saturday.

Crappy weather men here can't even tell us how much snow we're going to get. It won't be two feet like in New England. They won't have any place to pahk their cahs.

ABC just said some areas could get 6-12 inches.

Online they're saying that it's possible that some areas could get as much as two feet!

I was scheduled to fly out of Logan to Key West @ 6am tomorrow. Not gonna happen. Tried to get out earlier but everything was booked. I am now rescheduled for a Monday 6am departure and have my fingers crossed. As long as I'm fishing for bonefish and tarpon by Tuesday, I'll be a happy camper.

On a related note, there is a media explosion of epic proportions here in Boston. You'd think Armageddon was upon us. My guess is the corporations that own the media are salivating for a huge payday as they have all the frightened fucking lemmings in a frenzy, scampering for extra shovels, road salt, bottled water, gas, batteries, and trail-mix.

Don't want to derail the thread too much, but rank 'em, 80s:

    Cecily Tynan
    Sheena Parveen
Kate Bilo (pre-pregnancy, of course )

Back on topic, I heard this morning that for Boston/New England, this could be a "top 5" storm?

tough to rank. I'm originally from the New York City TV area where we had guys like....Frank Field and at the Anchor Desk Bill Beutel and Roger Grimsby. Then I move to Bucks county and 6ABC is like watching a soft porn channel.

    Ya think?

I'd think that roads would be clear in plenty of time for the show - it's not like we don't have enough warning for the trucks to get out with the brine, etc.

Here in VT they're saying 10-16 inches by the end of the storm. Seems like just a normal storm. Tons of people on Facebook last night were all freaked out hoping work would close down, etc. Not that I don't take driving in this weather seriously, but we've been through this so many times before (when they didn't name these storms)...you'd think it was the snowpocalypse.

My wife bought into the hype she was hearing and didn't want to go to work today. I do the driving anyway. Of course, when I'm driving she can't relax even when it's dry pavement...

I am not sure what is this panic all about...yesterday I went to supermarket to buy myself some berries and all those people were piling up shopping carts...it seems that nowadays it is like a Christmas for retailers every time it snows...

If I recall correctly it is still winter....come to think of it, when I was younger I would be disappointed if we would not get our share of the snow...
