Thanks Dan. Nice, although not what I was expecting to be honest. The way Steve was talking about this I was preparing myself for something EDM-flavored.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

It kind of looks like it says Yes, doesn't it?

Yes (ahem) it does. Think I'll buy it from Wakeman's site.

Thanks for the video, will be getting this for sure. They must have been proud of the album, so sad that Virgil didn't live to see it released.

On a side note some Howe guitar fans maybe interested in this video, this guy has acquired Steve's Gibson The Les Paul:

Steve commented on this particular track:

“On most of the tracks on the album I stick to one featured guitar per track, but on Nexus I use a dual guitar approach.

“I start by playing my favourite Gibson ES175D but then move over to a single neck Fender Professional Steel, which has two pick-ups, then I move back and forwards between them.

“The structure of this track demonstrates Virgil's melodic and rhythmic approach, which came about by him learning to play and make music ‘by ear’ utilising his keyboards and drums to invent his own writing style.”

That sounds really nice. Thanks for sharing.

Wow that does sound nice. I love it when he picks up the Fender Steel!

Whoa, THE Les Paul! That thing is amazing. I saw him use it on the Drama tour. And just the other night I was watching the GFTO sessions on YouTube and was really digging the way this guitar sounded compared to some of his more super bright tones.

Yeah, I think that thing was his go-to axe back in the day when he wanted a heavier, dirtier sound. It sounds gorgeous on "Double Rondo" from The Steve Howe Album, although he went more for semi-clean, sustained tone for that track.

He's more recently been using his red Les Paul for that crunchier stuff. I wonder why he decided to sell this. Although, it is quite a beast at 11 pounds, and Steve isn't the most robust dude.

Listening to this now. I have to say that so far it's the best piece of music I've heard Steve Howe associated with for years.

If the rest of the album sounds at all like this, I'll be picking it up. That was good.

Love Steve Howe, but I think it was kinda boring, just about any Durutti Column album blows it away as far as intricate solo guitar work...

    Well that's just heartbreaking.
