    This is awesome. Rather's The Big Interview is awesome. He's probably one of the best interviewers out there right now, especially when it comes to musicians -- I'd recommend if you haven't seen them checking out his ones with Phil Collins, Lindsey Buckingham and Sheryl Crow.

    Hmm, I seem to feel the opposite. He's a good journalist, but his questioning of musicians demonstrates a lack of depth in understanding them. I like Dan Rather a lot, though.

    I think he does better with more country / Americana oriented artists than the rock people. I read Rather’s book way back in the day and I seem to remember him being quite the music fan, but he definitely leaned toward the country side in his tastes, and it shows in this knowledge.
