"The Bill of Rights says nothing about the freedom of hearing. This, of course, takes a lot of the fun out of the freedom of speech." - Pat Paulsen

This is the album I always wanted Lou Reed to make.
This is the German vinyl edition, there will be a CD edition once everything is translated from the original French 'Le Calme dans le reflet du miroir ' into English :-)
PS Wasn't this Silent Movie where Marceau pronounced the only word or sentence in the film ?

If I'm not mistaken, this album, released in 1980, was pulled from the shelves after a copyright infringement case from the John Lennon estate. John and Yoko had two minutes of copyrighted silence on their Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions album which came out in 1969.
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
More likely a suit from the estate of John Cage. The Lennon/Ono piece was originally released on LP -- as was Marceau -- so neither one of them was truly "Two Minutes Silence." The surface noise would have been different for each release, so no infringement can be said to have occurred.
Cage on the other hand wrote 4'33 as a piece for rests only, so no matter the medium anytime a musician "rests," he or she is infringing.
