    George Clinton & Parliement Funkadelics

Saw George last night at our local "Riverfest".. very well attended and the band didn't disappoint.. Didn't see these guys back in the day when the Mothership was in full action but have seen them various times on TV / Youtube.. they were a trip live.. Ton of energy from the various band members / singers.. George has obviously slowed down he tended to sit quite a bit during the extended jams etc. But when he was on he was fully engaged.. Check that one off my bucket list.

TBH, I totally missed Funkadelik until the mid-90's, and I started listening to their 70's albums, though I still only own the first three.

I've yet to really investigate the Parliaments hemicycle
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On and Hardcore Jollies were the two best albums, as far as I'm concerned.

A vote for the Maggot Brain longplayer here...
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

Add "Let's Take it to the Stage" and "Cosmic Slop", and you have my Top 5.

I'm going to see him/them for the first time next week.

In my list of top five best shows ever, back in the late 80's in NYC. They didn't come on stage until after 11, and played until almost 4 am without a break.

I saw the PFunk several times about a decade ago and got way into them. The shows were all wildly uneven and amazing.

The classic lineups from the '70s was more consistently excellent, based on the extensive amount of video available on YouTube, but George still puts on a great show.
