Kosmigroov - Tell me what I want to hear

Love the old Julian Priester and Bennie Maupin ECM albums. I see Norman Connors has some highly recommended re-releases out. One of my best finds in this genre was Vitamin F by Fontanelle, an Italian band. Another is Ancient Flight Text by New Zealander Gianmarco Liguori.

Need to learn more. Feed me with your recommendations and discuss til we drop.

Love this genre. So many great albums. Most of my favorites have already been listed.

Another of my favorites, though maybe not entirely within the Kosmigroov genre:

    Carlos Garnett - Black Love

A modern entry to the genre that is pretty brilliant is Sonny Simmons & Moksha Samnyasin - Nomadic.

I heard this at a friend's house the other night, and you reminded me of my firm resolution to buy it. It's a killer. Another good one, less spiritual perhaps but in the same vein, is Peter Brotzmann with Black Bombaim.

I've been playing some Airto Moreira's lately, for example, "Free" from 1972: really enjoy it!! -

Very nice record! I think the band is from Portland, Oregon though.

Anyone want to offer some electric Miles-influenced prog to this list? I'm thinking about bands who riffed off from Bitches Brew.

Has anyone mentioned Rob Mazurek's Exploding Star Orchestra album Galactic Parables Vol 1 yet? Not sure if it's kosmigroov technically, but it has some killer stuff on it.

Norman Connors isn't that well known, but he certainly had heavy friends:
